Would it be of any use to cover the coolant feed from the pump to the intercooler with some insulation ... its right next to the motor and the hot return pipe ... might be worth a few degress C?

look over in the C32 forum and you can see my thread where i rerouted the intercooler system and added a seperate reservoir for the intercooler....no more heat soak for me...

Guys just my 2cents, i haven't read the whole thread but from where i stand there's a reason why renntech and kleemann only went as big as they did with there pullies. The extra boost that you get from the bigger pulley gets into diminshing returns on a stock system.
Now my thoughts on the fix, a new stock pump is good, a new aftermarket pump is better, don't know about the renntech setup, but going with a dedicated system like the evosport set is really good!
See on my car i will be putting on a pulley that's bigger then kleemann's but only because i can take advantage of the extra boost with SLR coolers and the evosport heatexchanger!
Since your gonna fix the problem bro, might as well maximize your potential and get the extra heatexchanger too, like the evo, or renntech one. Hope that helps.

New pump (MB) installed after pulley
I started out by data logging with a ScanTool after the pulley install. The data reflects 51 degree ambient temp, coolant temp 183 or so, and intake air temps starting at 150 degrees F.
The first hard acceleration up to 115 mph drives the IAT up to 250F, where the supercharger shuts down and the acceleration goes flat. I can't get more than 1 passing gear kickdown without losing power after an all too brief burst of speed.
This previously happened only after 2 or 3 runs in ambient temps over 100F.
So I take in to the dealer, show the data log to the shop foreman and urge him to drive it and feel the power loss.
2 days later I pick up the car, they've replaced the pump with another MB pump.
Going out the door, the data logging shows the IAT at 81 degrees in 40 degree weather. Then when I put my foot in it on 3 seperate runs over the next 5 minutes, the IAT never exceeds 115 degrees F despite doing 105 and at points over 6,000 rpm's.
It never lost power. I think I'm gonna' like this car.

Congrats! Good to hear everything is finally running ok. I'm planning on installing my ASP this coming week. Ill be sure to let you know how it goes. Enjoy the new power in good health!

Well the dyno was open but the printer wasn't working but it showed pretty decent results and I'll post the sheets when they arrive.
Best run with corrected numbers was 453 hp and 547 torque.
Still running a 10 af ratio from 4k rpm's and up.

Everyone and I suspect that my gas wasn't very good and saw an initial dip because of retard espeically since I had my timing set to baseline which should be the highest and similar to European settings.
When I have a chance, I'll put some 100 octane.

Run #4 in blue is pre-pulley with a bad IC pump.
Run #6 in red is post-pulley with a bad IC pump, up 1 hp and up 53 ft/lbs of torque.
Run #11 in green is post pulley with the IC pump replaced, up 72hp and 22 torque.
I wish that there was a baseline with a functioning IC pump and no pulley. According to my math, the average baseline should be around 428hp and 449 in torque (starting torque was 455).
That would suggest the gain was roughly 26hp and 76ft/lbs torque from the pulley at a 17% loss rate.

Quick questions, according to the thread https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ght=dyno+graph it seems that Tigerlam92's car has a 11.7 A/F after 4,000 rpm. Is yours running too rich? or maybe showing no reading after 4.4k because all your graphs goes flat?

Whatever the case, it would appear the car is running "pig rich", as I've heard quoted here.

Car is in the shop and the pulley is being installed. Its been there since 10am and it is now 3pm. I'm hoping that they are just really busy today because if they've been working on it the whole time, somethings most certainly wrong. I'll post results as soon as its done.

how do you know if you have a bad IC pump? My car feels slower lately and I cant figure out why...I recently put on 20" wheels but did not think it would make such a difference? any input would be appreciated...

If you have a bad IC pump it will be 100% noticable. The car will drive like a completely different vehicle. If your car feels slightly down on power its worth taking it in and checking if its throwing any codes. That happened to me once and even though the car didn't throw any codes I told them to run a diagnostics check anyway. Turns out I had a few bad sensors and they also changed my exhaust manifold. Good luck.

The pulley is in.
I'm slightly torn on this mod. To start, if it is even possible, it is almost as if the added HP is more noticable than the added torque. Similar to when I drove the E63, I looked down and noticed that I was going 100 before I even knew it. The car definitely pulls harder in the lower rev range, but up top it kiiinnnddd of seems to plateau a little earlier than it used to. This may just be my error though because I am not used to the car reaching such high RPMs so quickly. I wouldnt be surprised if it were my mistake.
The car seems to be a different animal in a sense that its always ready to go. 2nd gear is now just as fun as first as it is always ready to break the tires loose. Its just much quicker on its toes in every gear.
Supercharger whine is LOUD! And it is awesome. I love it. It even sounds like the exhaust note is a little deeper and louder as well. Sounds much more forceful and furious. I dont have a datalogger but engine temps never surpassed the normal 85-87C.
All in all I am very satisfied with this mod. As my first mod I think its great because its not tooo much but still quite noticable. I havent gotten to drive it on the freeway yet which I'm sure will be a different experience, but I'm certainly looking forward to it. I said I'm torn on the mod because from what I've been hearing, it should have made the car into more of a torque monster, but it seems to be more of a racecar. Either way, its still fun as hell!
