Okay, so my son tells me there is this beautiful new CLS AMG in our neighborhood so I tell him to take a picture the next time he sees it...........and he did!!

It is obvious that this is not a 55 or 63 but is there an AMG package that places this emblem on a CLS or should I just laugh the next time I drive by this guy?

No, MB hasn't put AMG emblems on Sport package cars for a long time now.

Besides, both the CLS55 and CLS63 have quad exhausts IIRC.

It doesnt even have the AMG package for a CLS500 or CLS550. What a ****ing poser. This is just as bad as the tool in the S class forum who bought an S class.

I dunno about that......he shows up here and sees your sig and then notices it in the neighborhood and then who knows what he would do.....not everyone takes this kind of stuff "in stride" unfortunately

Imitation is most sincere form of flattery even when its poor imitation. Its the guy with the all show and no go. What is more embarrassing then having a fake AMG and then lining up next to the real thing? Does he really think the badge is going to affect his Coed enough to catch you in the quarter. I just laugh when I see posers but thats all I do.

I've seen a lot of "sport appearance package" cars in the past year or so around BH/westside that are not AMG models (although they have all the appearance bits) but have been outfitted with the AMG badge, probably by a dealer (BH Benz, anyone?). I wouldn't be surprised if it was BH Benz that was doing it, since they're so keen on overcharging for everything, they probably convince naifs that the badge alone is worth an extra several hundred dollars (plus installation, of course).

Absolutely! Last week I pulled up to a faux e55 wagon, v8 kompressor badges and all. He looked over at me once and that was it. The exhaust and brakes are a clear give away.

i saw one at the dealership in portland oregon it was burgandy/red in color it was a trip cause the cls's just came out and it took me a minute to realize POSER! i was all happy to see my first cls55 and it was a fake!

Bill ussery here in miami does that too they put wheels and body kits on CLS550's and then slap an AMG badge on the trunk. I bet half those people don't even know they are posers.

Yeah, there are at least two fake E55 down in SD that I know off with fake quad exhaust and side badgings...
