finally back in the game
I finally took delivery of a new '07 E63 in silver on black. Got the Premium2 package, pano, parktronic, trunk closer, and rear side windowblinds.
Incredible vehicle, even when compared to my previous '01 E55. The refinement, luxury, new gadgets, and off course the big block are out-of-this-world.
The W210 AMG was an awesome car, in its own right. I still love seeing them on the road. But the E63, is truly amazing. No doubt an improvement in every category. More power, better exhaust note, better handling, much more supportive seats, better interior materials, more creature comforts available, better audio system, etc.
I'm still within the break-in period, so I haven't even tapped into the full potential of the E63. Can't wait to let it loose.
It's too bad MB can't get this quality control corrected. I've already had to have the NAV unit replaced after two days of ownership.
Just curious... do these no longer come with AMG floor mats? My E55 did.
Do I have to purchase the Bluetooth Module via AWS or at the dealership?
What happens if I accidentally push the Keyless Start/Stop button on top of the shifter when I'm in drive?
Anyone else buy extended warranty with Master Tech (based in FL)? The warranty has the same coverage as MBs and valid at all MB dealers, but was almost half the cost ($2700 for 7 yrs/70K miles or 6/100).

No, no more AMG mats as I understand it.
Around here, you can purchase the Bluetooth at the dealer.
You'll get a warning message in the display area of the dash telling you the car must be in park, but the engine will not shut down.

Ah thats one very nice touch on the E63 is the start stop button its a real metal button thats requires more pressure than the plastic one on the E55. I have many times accidentally hit the button on the E55... dont ask me how ...

As for mods, nothing on the horizon. I always like to keep things stock just to avoid any issues downstream.
