good price for e55?
hi everyone...i have an opportunity to purchase a new 2002 E55 for $72k...it has the v60 phone, park assist, and the cooled/heated seats...i was wondering if this is a reasonable price, considering the new model will be out soon...

2000 E 430
While it has a few options, the car has an MSRP of about $72K. I know from speaking with a local dealer who still has a 2002 E 55 on his lot that a similarly speced car can be had for the mid $60's. He said that MB has put a dealer incentive on the car and that the dealer would also be willing to cut into their "holdback" to move the car. I think you can do better.

That dealer would be making a KILLING at $72,000 for the old model E55.
They're receiving incentives because the completely reworked 2003 E's are already out (though the next E55 won't be available for another 3 months in Europe).
You DEFINITELY have a lot of negotiating freedom below $72K.
They need to get rid of that car and know that market value is well below the price you stated.
