Powerchip?
Powerchip?
Newbie here. I've been reading lots of the old posts, but didn't see much mention of Powerchip. If I don't want to do the pulley thing, but still want some more go power, is the Powerchip worthwhile? Anybody running their software and what kind of results did you get from the upgrade?

After I demonstrated to them that my 0-62 mph acceleration time increased from a consistent 6.5 sec to equally consistent 7.1-7.2 sec, they reversed the chip tune-up and gave me a full refund.
I still would not let them touch any of my cars, never mind the hype on their website.
Get it done by RENNTech. I have no clue why I continue to promote their product, but I still feel it is the best quality out right now. You hear of very few people that have ECU issues with them and the others always have their issues. Most of it stems from MB taking such an aggressive stance about it lately.

i'm not sure i would pay any of the tuners for a stand alone ecu flash unless it was to flash over mb's recall work. there's probably so little gain (if any) you'd feel cheated.

20+ to list......
I'm a Powerchip user, as a matter of fact, 4 out 5 of my MB's are reflashed by Powerchip, my ML63 will soon follow. I have nothing but positive experience with them, I've been working with Matt since last June and he has been very helpful to date. I've even let them borrow my E550's ECU to do R&D's with it, and they let me keep the beta program on my E550's ECU to see how the car is, so far so good, but I will have to get some datalogging done for them in order to get the program finalized for the new N/A 5.5L V8 engines. I know both Kleemann & Renntech are very reputable companies, and if Powerchip wasn't around, I'd have gone with either one, but so far, Powerchip gets my business not because they are better, but I don't want to pay extra for the brand.

powerchip / evosport
Powerchip is the way to go for value and quality. I found them through evosport and both companies have (so far) been great to work with. They even answer the phone (thanks guys).

I have powerchip in my E55 and its excellent, all promised gains were there and the throttle response is incredible. I also have a powerchip on my 65 and the price was less than half of renntech for similar gains. No issues here.
I sugguest listening to the above 3 posts, as they have actually tried Powerchip software. (This includes one of the forum moderators)
Plus, with a 14-day money back guarantee there's really no way you can go wrong with Powerchip software. The other tuners mentioned above charge more than double for their software with gains the same or less than Powerchip.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I assume somebody has an independent before and after dyno with a Powerchip ECU upgrade (or any brand for that matter) only, to show it increases performance?
Remember the Sprint Booster makes the car seem faster just by remapping the throttle response.

On a side note, you don't have to trust anyone's word. Since we have a 14-day money back guarantee why not give it a shot yourself?

Not mentioning the competitors software is a matter of respect to that tuner. We are not here to disprove our competitors claims and prove them wrong, we're here to prove what we do and the gains our software provides.

Just for clarification, does powerchip have the ability to modify the ECU on a newer E55 ('06?). I don't want to flash the car with an older version or to have Powerchip "undo" future MB flashes. I prefer they be able to re-do the Powerchip part. Let me know.
