So i just got off the phone w/ my service advisor at the stealership,
My car was in for a routine windshield replacement(got a crack)
I mentioned to him that my super charger clutch was "slipping"
and he had the tech check it out.
he called me back and said they replaced tensioner, belt, and a new clutch pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
today was a good day!!!!

i have this problem too.. but with ASP it has been amplified..
they wont' be able to change the belt, since the belt is different...
I wonder if they will still just update the tensioner and the clutch pack?
I need to make an appointment soon for other issues... as well.

Im really curious to see how many miles go by before the chirp and rough engagement comes back.I'd like to have my fixed but from what I've read here it seems to be a short time fix?

There are mobile services that replace windshields, while your car is parked at work.
On a 98 Camry, a factory OEM is about $500 and a used one is about $250, installed, in SF bay area.

The chirp comes from the belt suddenly trying to grip the pulley when snapped on, not the clutch itself.
Noise problem is solved with the new clutch assembly. Works by torque easing on through slipping rather than suddenly snapping on.
Unfortunately it may slip at high rpm with a bigger pulley setup costing power.

The last thing you want is some tweeker mexican or cracker trying to install a windshield on your AMG, there are electroncs involled not to mention those guys could care less about your car in house MB is the only way to go i usualy use the MB dealer closer to me but they farm out windshields so i took it to the big portland dealer because they in house everything.

That's good news! I had this done a long time ago and now take it for granted and forgot all about the chirp. I had the dealer install the upgraded 2006 clutch pack on my car. Night and day difference in engagement.

How would I go about dealing with the dealer so they will upgrade the clutch pack under warranty? I get the jerk sometimes, but can't manage to duplicate it whenever I want. I have a 05'.

The new clutch may slip within the clutch itself and via the belt slipping on the "V groves" to, which ever gives first...
I have heard from some MB tecs that these altered clutch upgrades have worn out over time due to large pulley abuse.
I'm running the old clutch with the wrap kit and 175 pulley without any chirp or slip... quite fond of that old noise though...

Finny, no disrespect, but i totally disagree w/ you on the chirp and i think alot of other people will to. The chirp comes from the clutch because if you use lubricant and put it in between the clutch and super charger, the chirp will go away for about 5k mi. this has been discussed over and over again. it is mainly a 03-04 yr problem.
With lubricant the shock is absorbed between the two plates and not the belt against the V grove, hence no stress to the belt... the energy is dampened here between the two plates by sliding... Thats why MB used soft clutch material between the two plates to emulate the same reaction as lubricant.
With the old style clutch which is instant on and instant off, the energy will be transferred back to the belt. The same thing happens when you turn the corner with a locker diff, you will here one of the wheels chirping. If you then use an LSD with clutches then slip will occur in the clutches where energy is absorbed there and not the wheel...
In my opinion only... the noise is still generated between the pulley contacting the belt.
