E55 Walking a GXSR

My first bike kill!! I had a couple of kills this day, most of which were probably a waste of my gas. This one, was a nice way to end the day...

The guy on the GSXR is an idiot there is no way an E55 should walk away from that bike. But hey good for you for beating him in a car!

nice run and without taking anything away from you or these cars all i can say is you definitely beat the rider...he didn't even have it in the right gear to start with.

i guarantee, with rare exception, the only e55 that walk away from me on a modern 600 would be malcom's.

Is it just rider? I also walk 600s all the time. Well, i won't say walk, but i pass them as they are trying. The 750s sit side by side with me and the 1000s pull me pretty good. I was wondering if everyday road conditions could also be a factor? It has been argued to death, but fact remains that most bikes on the road don't hit anywhere near the published numbers.

ALL the bikes on the road hit their published numbers...it's the rider that doesn't know how to extract it.

My car is bone stock. I have beat several 600's. You have to have a 1000cc bike or be a professional on a 600cc to get a jump on a car with as much torque as an E55 has. Gearing is everything and 600cc doesn't have torque especially with a big rider.

Bike Rider error is still a kill. Its their fault for not learning how to drive their bike to the max if they are going to run. And when they can...all the props to them. A professional rider on a modern 600 should pass all but the mid to deep 11sec cars.

looks like the gixxer was not in correct gear, he shoulda jumped much more then he did. trust me, i know, i have one. mines a 750cc. my 500+rwhp vette can be about 2-4 cars ahead of my bike. i would say that the race was then driver error of the bike. it shoulda been pretty darn even, which it looked like in the beginning. just my 0.02, but what do i know...

I don't know guys, from a stop the bike would have killed him but rolling I thinik the E has a chance. Now against my bike you'd have been smoked dry from any speed to any other speed, in almost any of my 6 gears. 163Hp at the wheel baby.

In the camera woman's defense, she was waiting for the bike to go flying by me. (She is not as familiar with the power of an E55 as I am.. ) Future videos will be better as I have advised her that it is best to film these videos from the back window..

my 01' Gix 750 put down 131rwhp. power commander2, K&N filter, jardin slip on. simple mods, but hell of a increase!

Steve: no ******* you at all, that E55 is fast for sure! and ya, you learn a few times but vids should be taken from the back seat! LOL...

2006 E55 AMG
I would love to see video of a 600cc bike beating an E55. I've never seen it at the track, in person, or on video....yet, I hear from bikers all the time that the 600 will walk any E55. Please, give me some links to video so I can see the mighty 600 in action. I don't want to go out any more and challenge street bikes if I'm going to be embarrassed.

Guys, seriously you're putting too much stock on the 600. It realy depends on the size of the guy. The guy in the video looked pretty big so the bike is just not gonna wanna get up and go that fast. I totally believe the vid.

BMW K1200R + Leo Vince. I get Something like 165HP to the read wheel. 0-60 Measurements around 2.8. Here's a video of my stroll from 0-140, and I think it's obvious I wasn't even pushing it. It's very hard to push this bike to it's limits on the road and keep out of trouble.

This may have been rider error as well, but I had my friend run me on his '06 GSX1000 with a rider on the back, he swore he was giving the bike all it had and my M5 kept up him fairly well. The run was about 45 to 100...

the 1000 is a monster of a bike, but you guy have to realize that with bikes it makes all the difference how much weight you put on top. With my girlfriend on the back (she weighs maybe 110) my 1200 feels like a 750, even with the suspension adjusted and all for two passengers. Anyway, it wasn't all rider error.

I don't understand all the doubting...Yes the rider on the bike is a BIG factor, but Steve's E55 is not stock. It's a renntech Stage 5 as said in his sig no? I would think it's VERY possible to walk or even stay up with a bike ( unless you talkin modded busa's and all that other stuff )

Just my 2 cents...

LOL you recognized the road. Yeah that road is awesome. They've had a couple of LEOs out there the past few weeks so I've been kinda gun shy in the area. I did drift around the corner of San Joaquin and Newport Coast Drive last week in my CLS once at about 80mph, the car handled like a dream. But this week I've seen a lot of five-oh in the neighborhood so I'm gonna lay low until track day next week (if I can make it, please please).

Hey W Cole are you going to the Tri-State Meet?
