Any E55, E63's in the LA area want to have a friendly race?
I'd love to run 1 of you guys, obviously if E55, closest to stock as possible..
Against my 2005 C6 Corvette, I know you'll probably win, but would love to see how my Vette stacks up??
Please don't take my request as if I've lost my mind, the 05' C6 w/A4 tranns (auto) w/oem 3.15 gears, has been shown (half a dozen guys w/slips ran 'em at tracks on Vete forum) to run a best 1/4 of 12.5xx @110-113mph bone stock...
I have CAI, and Cat-back...no huge gains...So anybody up for some fun? freeway roll-ons seem to be best shot around busy LA....

LOL, my business keeps me in an office for 12hours a day!! Hehe.
Sure, we can find a spot half way. Lets do it soon, though if you want a stock one. The other SD Crew boys are done getting RennTech stage one and I'm coming up next week.

We've also got an E63 among us that will likely be stock for a bit, so you can wrestle with him.

Is the C6 leaf springs, or no? Dunno why I thought the Z06 was all I needed to look out for? You looking for more straights or twisties? I wish we could get you down here to do the Palomar mountain / Hidden Valley road loop. i love all the undulations.

I'm new to the whole twisties thing, but getting better every time I take the wheel, in those types of environments, I'd love to see how the C6 compares straight line, as you E55k have really set the bar in this venue..
I'd love a Canyon run, I just recently lowered it myself, pretty much slammed, it corners like crazy now, real EZ lowering---jack stands, and a few tools, your there, the C6 from the fact, comes made to be adjustable in ride height, by turning the existing bolts, and cutting the bushings out..

It's really 4 wheel independant suspension, but has a Transverse leaf spring design...Which can easily be swapped out for an awesome suspension set-up w/coil overshocks, by Phadt & many other manufact..

Sweet. Sounds like fun. I'm more into having some turns, but I'm down for some straight blasts as well.
Do you plan on the coil overs any time soon? Does the Z06 have them? What does it have other than engine?
I'm wondering what the best bang for the buck is... a C6 modded out or a Z06 slightly modded?

You two go back and forth on the ethical ramifications of speeding, and lets also discuss the differences between a Vette and an E55.
Just to clarify the C6 vs Z06 question, lets say i had a set amount to spend and was fully prepared to void warranty and mod it out, which is a better platform? Let's say if i wanted to spend $80K total.

C6 w/6.0 liter can be modded for way more rwhp & rwto than the high compression 7.0 Z06.....Plus you can remove the roof, not an option on the Z06.. they have several 600-800 rwhp & rwto C6's... The modded Z06 usally tops out around 550-575 rwhp w/far less torque, unless they throw a TT on the Z06, but even then there not breaking the 600rwhp zone...
Besides having the 505 hp the Z06 comes w/bigger 6-piston front brakes & 4-piston rears, a dry-sump oil system, Carbon Fiber front fenders, a Magnesium engine cradle, an all aluminum frame, saving 136lbs over the reg C6, power to weight ratio of 6.2lbs per horsepower....
The aluminum 427 7.0 Liter has...Exotic hardware, featuring a forged-steel crankshaft with six-bolt main bearings. Intake valves and connecting rods were made out of lightweight titanium. Redline is 7,000 rpm..
The suspension has a few different tweeks over the base C6 such as...Beefed up sway bars, stiffer over all suspension ride, better shocks etc..
No the Z06 doesn't have the coil overs, there pretty decently priced at about 2k total for parts and about $500 for install, besides infinitely better handling characteristics, they make the ride height very easily adjustable, you can really dump it, compared to the bolt/bushing method I used..

LOL , not to stop this banter (since I enjoy others going back and forth as much as i like to be in the middle), but can we keep 2 topics going at once?

Though you can easily make monster power out of the LS2 the reg. C6 has, the LS7 is just a solid motor with a much better background.
Criticize GM and their crappy interiors all you want, but I agree everyone should give credit to how much they know their pushrod motors. The LSx engines are truly solid.

I dynoed stock at 350rwhp 360rwto, stock against stock it should be a good race..
A properly supercharged 2004 Z06 should be running about 500+rwhp 500+rwto? he must've had bad traction issues?? the guys at the tracks w/these power levels are trapping 127-132 mph...

$ for $, the Vette is a heck of a car. Especially given that all the weaknesses can be worked on. If I get one, it will stricktly a toy, so I'm not big on the others. Also, the looks of the Z06 over the C6 isn't important. the other stuff may be.

Can't speak on behalf of that video, but I've personally seen stock C6's and stock E55's run the 1/4 here in Vegas (2,200 ft. evelvation) and run ~ 13.2 and 12.5 respectively.... on numerous occasion... that's the average. The stock e55 is a good .5 - .7 sec's faster than your car.
