Torque ???

What's the deal with the torque #'s and upgrades ??? I have noticed in other posts that a stock dyno will show like 50-60 more torque than hp but when the cars get modded the hp goes up but the torque only goes up a little for instance somebody posted that their car dynoed stock 420HP and 474 ft.lb that's a difference of 54 and on a RT stage 5 the numbers were 500hp and 529 ft.lb so only a difference of 29 ??

Does the torque # have anything to do with more performance ?? Like one of our board members Fikse has a dyno of 456.27 hp and 503.49 tq and he ran an 11.66 on street tires and I have 475hp and 501 tq and ran a best of 11.89 on SLICKS !!

your not talkin much difference in HP or TQ between the 2 cars maybe you weight more than he does. as far as a faster time maybe it was colder better track or sorry but just a better driver. there can be tons of reasons why he went faster.

same day, same track, I had an excellent driver that drove my car.

But notice that he only has Renntech stage 1 and has more torque than my renntech stage 5+ ?? and is still faster than me ..

I also have a RT stage 5. I think your car could be experience heat soak. Do you have a larger I/C pump?

Did you notice a difference in Hp and TQ with the new RT upgraded intercooler kit. Did you have it when you did the 11.8 run?

actually, here is the complete story, when I bought my car I added the renntech ecu and pulley, then I added the carbon fiber airbox, then the headers... I ran an 11.89 with those mods on slicks then I went back to renntech and added the renntech TB, ALSO had renntech swap out my renntech headers for longer renntech headers and remove the front cats and add the intercooler upgrade kit so they had to swap out my carbon fiber airbox for a new airbox that would fit the 80mm tb swapped out my headers for longer headers and added the intercooler kit ( no pulley cause it was not in stock yet) so actually I should be at stage 5 + or stage 6 whatever it is but the car feels the same if not slower than when I ran the 11.89 .. and when I got my car back it dynoed 475hp and 501tq but I have to drop it off at renntech next week for them to find out where my hp is, I hope they find some more because today I ran against a stock sl55 and it beat me not by that much but still when you put over 15K into a car I feel I should have beat that sl55 without a problem. But I do hope that renntech will find out what the problem is and fix it as I am really not happy with my numbers for the price I paid.. I do have faith in renntech and believe that they will figure it out but I am just dissapointed in my track numbers.. Will report back as soon as I get me car to renntech and get it back. I see people with 523hp and not nearly as much done to their car as I have on mine. So I am expecting at least 500 or more hp when I get it back..

Wow. I think I got my mods in the same order. Maybe the ECU has to adjust. Strange that you would be making less hp with the larger headers and the cats removed. Having said that, I believe Vic55 mentioned in a post that he lost hp when he removed his cats, and resonators due to a loss or drop in bac pressure. Maybe you are experiencing the same thing.

Possibly , they are going to try some new headers on their test car before I bring mine in to see if the headers are the problem or maybe the ecu programming.

What are your dyno #'s ?

482hp and 518ft-ib
I think my car can do better than 482hp as it was very hot when I ran it. However, I am more concerned with track numbers now.

Interestingly enough, before I got the throttle body installed, my car dynoed at 460hp and 523ft-ib. I am more concerned about my loss in torque.

I am not as concerned about the horsepower number as I am with the torque. I was told that I needed to let the ECU adjust. That K3 car sounds powerful. What does K3 consist of: ECU, pulley, headers, TB?

different dynos can also give different HP numbers if they arent calibrated correctly.

take my stock dyno for example: 412 HP, 492 ft-lb torque. Is that correct? Who knows

true, but the 1/4mile doesn't lie. there's something wrong with a renntech stage 5+ that only runs an 11.89 on slicks.

cosm, what was your mph on that run?

Whatever the case may be, I have full faith in Renntech and hopefully will show some great #'s when I bring my car in and get retuned...

uh oh, where's jangy...this looks EXACTLY like the post recall situation that renntech isn't supposed to suffer from.

11.89 on slicks is not bad. I ran a 12.8 with DR + K3.

The ET can lie but the MPH will give you the real indication if your car is making the HP it should. The 117mph seems a bit low. I hope you get things worked out.
