I could tell you face to face but Im terrible with putting it into type, plus my spelling just flat out sucks. It has alot to do with how a car is going to run that day.

Density Altitude, I presume. It is a product of humidity, pressure, and temp. I do not know the formula, but it converts the current conditions to sea level at a standard temp and pressure. Don't know those either, but my guess is the temp is 32 degrees and the pressure would be whatever in of HG would convert to about 14.7 PSI. At least I think it is 14.7. Someone will correct me in a few minutes.

OK..trying to help a friend find out if there's any converting for his altitude and 1/4 mile time
He ran a 13.2 @ 109
altitude 1227 feet
temp--57 degrees
humidity--40-50% (not sure)
barometer--30.06
Any 1/4 mile ET or trap speed change ??

Maybe DA conversion does not compute that. Since I admit I am an idiot on the subject, I might have been saying something that was not true. I bet someone who knows what they are talking about will chime in a bit. My experience is point and shoot and hope for the best. I have not been involved with technical aspects of racing since the 60's and things have changed a lot since then. Hope you find your answer soon.

I am going to ask a friend of mine who is a pro racer and premier engine builder what he knows about the subject. He has a weather station and keeps track of the data. BTW, he has a 64 fairlane Thunderbolt nad has turned a 9.95. Quite the quick car.
I will get back to you if I find out anything useful.

As explained you take the temp, sea level of the track and humidity. I run at Irwindale and Qualcomm for 1/8 mile and the only other closer track is Fontana. Our times will never be as good as say ATCO in New York they are below sea level and typically (after the summer) have dry cold weather like we just experience and run about 4/10 and faster than we do out here. Below sea level is like a natural supercharger effect. The DA correction factor helps level the playing field so you get a real baseline to compare to the quicker tracks.
