Check engine light 2005 e55 amg
Two weeks ago I had my front resonator cut off on my 05 amg, and had pipes welded in place. Yesterday my check engine light came on. Do you think this is a direct result of the removal? Is there a way to make the light turn off? I would take it to my mercedes dealer but they are kind of weenies when it comes to performance upgrades. Has anyone else had this problem? I know it was not the gas cap and the car seems to be driving fine. Thanks for any help you can give me.

More than likely it is due to the removal of the cats. When you removed them, you should also have the ECU re-programmed with different parameters.
This I know is SOP when you go Kleemann and remove the cats.
They are aware that the CEL will appear because of cats removed.

Ok did you have the resonators removed or the cats? You mentioned resonators but Ken mentioned cats. If its the resonators you should not get a CEL. You may have an exhaust leak or vacuum pump error or something that has to do with air intake but it should be a easy fix. If you had the cats removed the pre cats are the only ones that will cause a CEL and you will need to override the software as Ken mentioned. Post cats should not cause a cel.
