actualy, there is no law against changing lanes in an intersection. I belive its a gray area on the vehicle code, at least in CA

For number 7.. Speed limit means its the limit.. Not that you can go over the limit. Its up to the officers, I have know people that have been pulled over for 2mph over the limit and given a ticket.. I drive 10-15 over the limit and have never been pulled over, here in Arizona 10 over is considered the "safe" zone.

I believe there's a 3/5mph buffer zone, even in the courts.

Correct. There is no V.C. against it. It's very old "trick" question on most of the CDL tests.

Im glad. I hate seeing single drivers in the carpool lane, and people cutting in and out of them as well

I'm not so sure about that...you might get a ticket for driving 2 or even 1 mph over the limit, the question is IF this was really your measured speed...

Example: In Germany, you get a "measuring tolerance" of 3 km/h. If you were "caught" doing 103 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, you wouldn't get a ticket although you were measured 3 km/h too fast (and maybe you were that fast - doesn't matter). They take the measured speed, deduct the 3 km/h and call the result "the minimum speed the vehicle had". 103 km/h - 3 km/h = 100 km/h = no ticket...

NOW, if they might have caught you doing 104km/h, than you might get a ticket for doing 101 km/h in a 100 km/h limit. So yes, you might get a ticket for being 1 km/h too fast - but in reality, you were 4 km/h too fast...

BTW, I always set my cruise control to the speed-limit PLUS 5 mph. I already ran into several radar-traps going 47 mph in a 45 limit (I know that my "real" speed is about 3 mph slower than displayed by my car) - nothing hapened. Once I actually saw the cop getting out of his car with the radar gun in has hand, pointing it at me with nobody else around.. I bet my *** that he would have stopped me in my M5 if he could...

mbamg06e55, not to change the subject, but i couldn't help but to notice 375,000 miles on the 300se, thats amazing, we have a silver '89 as well, have 249,000 on it now, and still runs like a charm, and cleans up quite nice too. ours has paid for itself many times over, i'm sure its the same with you..

Agreed. There are no "lanes" in an intersection.

In Florida, it was within 100ft of an intersection.

3x ADI classes in the early 90's all reiterated this.

As I pointed out before, the question is if your MEASURED speed was 12 or your speed after deducting a tolerance was at least 12....

BTW, I read on a couple websites that this *may* be a hoax/chain email as there is no information posted on DMV or AAA about such a big change as carpool fine. Still searching tho...

I was going an indicated 10. He pulled me over. I got a ticket for going 12 in a 10.

That's really strange - Usually, the indicated speed is slightly higher than the "real" one..

Maybe AMG speed-indicators don't work properly at those speeds....These cars were meant to fly, not to walk..

unless... a possibility could be different size rims and tires. I believe u have to recalibrate the speedometer when u change to different sizes to reflect the new true speed. did u have different size rims/tires?

speeding tickets......

ive gotten one for going 7 over in a 35 at 3am, there was one other car on the street. ****in ******* bh cops

i was driving at 120 (cruise cont.) on the 405, i look in the rearview and see lights catching up to me so i slow to 95 or so w/o braking. a cop pulls along side, turns his pillar light on, looks at me (i guess) and takes off

maybe the fact that i was in a completely stock 220 helped
