Nope. It's a bloody buyers market for these cars right now. You'd be lucky as hell to get $60k for an '05.

Price

Check out the prices on Ebay Motors. One can get an 06 for low 60s. The 05 may only have two years left on the warranty so it is facing a lot of depreciation. Sell it fast, good luck!

Try Edmonds.com their TMV (true market value) module is mostly spot on with the market. Good luck bud.

o5 E55's with low miles, are doing low $50's at Manheim auto auction... So, in the private party market, a "fair" for both parties deal would be $55-$57k... A "give away" would be $52k. the market is soft for these cars now. You can buy a low mile, fully optioned 06' for low $60's...

Here are some scary numbers, but some of them are factory cars and they bring lower numbers.

These are on E63's:

10/25/06 W PALM Regular $79,000 2,730 Avg BLACK A Yes
12/21/06 W PALM Factory $79,600 583 Avg IDM SIL 8G A Yes
12/21/06 W PALM Factory $77,000 568 Avg IDM SIL 8G A Yes
12/21/06 W PALM Factory $76,800 347 Avg IDM SIL 8G A Yes
12/21/06 W PALM Factory $70,000 449 Below BLACK 8G A Yes
01/17/07 W PALM Regular $77,500 1,556 Avg BLUE 8G A Yes

its a great time to buy a used upscale car IMO. The M5's are selling in the 60's, the V12 Benzo values are dropping faster than Paris Hilton's panties, and the 63's are falling too.

No disrespect, but you can ask all day. Good thing you aren't selling.

If you buy that car for $64k. The salesman who sells it to you, is booking a trip to Aruba the very next day

Stupid question... what are the numbers before the AVG, etc.? This is encouraging, how does one grab one of the auction E63s? Thanks,

The numbers before the AVG are the miles- you need a dealer license to access the auction sales or a friend who has one

Do you think the low mileage models are graduates of the AMG Challenge?

Not that it would matter to me, as long as the warranty is in place and you get a good price ... take the short end now because you're sure gonna' get it at trade in.

dude i understand what youre saying 10000% but where are all these deals that everyones talking about? i guess everyone is referring to private sales right?

ive been following 03-05's on mbusa's site as well as all of the local nyc/nj/ct dealers and autotrader for some time now and if you are going to go thru an mb dealer for a cpo joint and get all the extended warranties, etc youre not gonna find anything close to the numbers you guys are saying unless its one with some sketchy carfax history. dont believe me - do a preowned inventory search on mbusa's site.

2003 e55's right now with between 11,000 miles and 35,000 miles, cpo from authorized mb dealers are going for $49K to $59K, that **** is nuts!

how much are the dealers marking them up? how much are the buyouts after a lease? how much are they going for at auction? how much you think you can talk them down?

ive bought all my mbs preowned and always knew i was paying a bit over the private market but i chalked it up to peace of mind and ease. any info/help/insight would be appreciated, i dunno maybe im missing something.

Walk into that same dealer that is "asking" 64 and make them an offer!! Why do you think their asking price is indicative of the actual sale price?

yea thats a given but lets be real for a sec, no mb dealer is coming down 4-5k on a cpo joint.

me and a few of my family members have purchased a few cpo models over the years (2 s-classes, 1 sl, 1 clk, 1 cl and 2 c-classes) and you are lucky if you get the dealer to come down 1-2K, lucky! a few times in the past when negotiating with the mb dealer theyve elected to give me more on my trade in (all mb's) rather than drop their listed price for the cpo.

this is my experience at a few nyc/nj dealers (mb of manhattan, ray catena, silver star and david michael), maybe its different in other parts of the country.

Not my experience here. Ask anyone who knows me and has seen me shop. The asking price of new and used Es has been quite negotiable over the past few years.

is this just an amg thing?, none of my cars were amg's maybe thats why??

and im talking the past 10 or so years is my experience in never getting an mb dealer to come down significantly on a cpo car, model years 1996 -2006
