its a great time to buy a used upscale car IMO. The M5's are selling in the 60's, the V12 Benzo values are dropping faster than Paris Hilton's panties, and the 63's are falling too.

Not that it would matter to me, as long as the warranty is in place and you get a good price ... take the short end now because you're sure gonna' get it at trade in.
ive been following 03-05's on mbusa's site as well as all of the local nyc/nj/ct dealers and autotrader for some time now and if you are going to go thru an mb dealer for a cpo joint and get all the extended warranties, etc youre not gonna find anything close to the numbers you guys are saying unless its one with some sketchy carfax history. dont believe me - do a preowned inventory search on mbusa's site.
2003 e55's right now with between 11,000 miles and 35,000 miles, cpo from authorized mb dealers are going for $49K to $59K, that **** is nuts!
how much are the dealers marking them up? how much are the buyouts after a lease? how much are they going for at auction? how much you think you can talk them down?
ive bought all my mbs preowned and always knew i was paying a bit over the private market but i chalked it up to peace of mind and ease. any info/help/insight would be appreciated, i dunno maybe im missing something.

Walk into that same dealer that is "asking" 64 and make them an offer!! Why do you think their asking price is indicative of the actual sale price?
me and a few of my family members have purchased a few cpo models over the years (2 s-classes, 1 sl, 1 clk, 1 cl and 2 c-classes) and you are lucky if you get the dealer to come down 1-2K, lucky! a few times in the past when negotiating with the mb dealer theyve elected to give me more on my trade in (all mb's) rather than drop their listed price for the cpo.
this is my experience at a few nyc/nj dealers (mb of manhattan, ray catena, silver star and david michael), maybe its different in other parts of the country.

is this just an amg thing?, none of my cars were amg's maybe thats why??
and im talking the past 10 or so years is my experience in never getting an mb dealer to come down significantly on a cpo car, model years 1996 -2006
