I think occasional checking of these welds is prudent ...

The pulley runs 100% true and the water pump reduction pulley is a quality piece although the holes do not line up 100% you may need to file them slightly - which is easily done.

Performance is clearly obivous with no ECU or anything else. IAT's are obviously higher but no shut down experienced yet - but as has been said it is winter. In summer this could be problematic without a better cooling package. We shall see...

I agree.. the welds could be better.

However I paid $800 for the 2 pulleys and $120 to install (local mechanic)

No ECU reflash needed, but it you have the money I would recommend custom tuning.

I did have issues with the stock IC pump (My car only has 22k miles) but dealer replaced the IC pump under warranty and NEVER brought up the ASP crank pulley.

You will have a rougher kompressor engagement, but if you drive in C mode and install the SPRINT BOOSTER.. you will be able to hit 60MPH wihout shifting.

the upradred johnson pump is about $200 and very easy to install.

Anybody know where I can get the fan mod for $50?

Yup, yup. Is that the only Star mod you want? I am setting up a Star party to get lots of things done at once.

Can you explain which pulleys you get for the $800? The crank pulley is the one that spins the SC and adds power, so I get that. What is the other pulley and what do they do to it (bigger, smaller)?

You get the crank pulley......water pump pulley and belt. The water pump pulley is smaller so it clears the larger crank pulley. The crank pulley is about one inch larger in diameter and is eqaulivalent to 1psi in boost.

Really? Only 1 psi? I thought the Evo / Renn sizes were giving 2-3 and that the even larger ASP gave an extra 1 on top of that. Can anyone clarify.

Back to the water pump pulley, what does the smaller pulley do (performance wise) other than just give the larger pulley room? Does it affect cooling at all?

Boost is higher on ASP ... I had 24 psi max before the pulley and now I get 27.5-28 psi.

Yes see level is around 14.7 psi

So net gains are ~9.3psi and ~13.3psi respectively roughly speaking ... so ASP gives you just around ~40% more boost over stock pulley over atmos - but is around 18% more of total pressure.

From what I know Evosport's pulley boosts a tad over 3psi more than stock whereas ASP's pulley brings that to 3.5 or so.

I thought the EVO pulley diameter was the same as the RennTech and K, no?

I dont know where i read the ASP was 1 psi?? I thought that was low. The Kleeman pulley isnt much bigger than stock......it must yield only 1 psi possibly???

Read my post above ASP adds around 4 psi over stock pulley...... Klee & co think are around 3psi.

As far as I know ASP is the largest pulley out there.

So realistically speaking, how much Hp/tq. can one expect to gain over the RT/Kleemann/Evosport pullies with the ASP pulley.

It is actually a +10c mod.

My car went to Harmanmotive this morning for the ASP Pulley.....VRUS TB, center resonator removal and PTE160 thermostat. It had the K1 flash and pulley installed last year, however a few months ago I went into the stealership and they reflashed it ....something to do with a bulletin. The car never ran the same, and according to the Kleeman dealer required to be reflashed with the Kleeman tune. Well I never did take it back and decided to go in a new direction......so.....this morning with the Kleeman pulley and stock reflash it pulled 459.88hp and 529ftlbs. By tomorrow am I should have a new # with the ASP Pulley....then the other parts. Should be interesting.

Check out this E55 with headers, pulley and chip that pulled 475hp.....hhhhmmmm.... mine is not to far behind.

You are right should be interestng. One more thing because the ASP pulley comes with a smaller water pump pulley, it spins the water pump faster. Some say it helps with cooling not sure about that, but maybe. I for one like my ASP pulley.
