LSD Oil Leak?
Did a search with no result.
My tech just called me told me that he found evidence of oil leakage on the LSD pumpkin. No oil was dripping or anything, just traces of oil on the LSD and the heat sink is clogged with dirt….
Anyone had an experience with LSD leakage? Is it covered under warranty?
Its a 05' with 15,000 miles and no mods.
Thanks.

Whatever your problem turns out to be, it should be covered under warranty.

Technically an LSD cant leak.It is an internal part, its the differential housing that may be leaking.Easy fix for an MB tech.If theres dirt in the cooling fins of the heat sink then somebody has been doing some off roading in your car.Common debris from roadways wont result in dirt clogging the fins, going over high ground will though.

no lsd on your car buddy but the pumpkin front seal and side seals do leak. if its under warranty it wouldn't hurt resealing it but honestly if its not pissing on the ground leave it alone. just clean it off and you are good to go.

the fill plug is on the left side(driver side) of the diff. unscrew it and the oil level should be right at the bottom of the hole or maybe a little less. you should be okay though but if it will make you feel better go ahead and check it. believe me, don't worry to much about it. if the pumpkin is not wet and dripping you are fine. if its just sweating with a little residue i would leave it alone.
