Are the non-AMG's affected too? Mine falls into the recall VIN but is a 2007 CLS 550. Thanks.

Reflash Scam
05VENOM: Back about a year+ ago there was a E55 nationwide recall for a "Smog pump problem". After the recall all the E55 owners reported dramatic loss of power and some folks even thought it might be an AMG plot/scam to make the E55's slower than the new E63's that were just coming out. Lots of the guys who had mods and ECU upgrades with Kleeman, Rentech, etc. could not get the old power back and there was much frustration and there was even a person who had a conference call with AMG USA and agreed to waive their warranty rights if AMG/MBZ restored the old flash vs the new one. AMG agreed to the request and nothing else was said. Lots of the "Modded guys" eventually got their old power back after much research by the supplier of the Mod reflashes but we know that something was wrong here! This thread may open some old wounds so peace to everyone on this!!!

E63 AMG
my car was runnning like **** and then did a reflash now it feels much faster, also in mine they had to replace the stock cats because they were destroyed and the car would make a horrible noise when you would start it up

Read my post clearly
AMG's stance has not changed. NO '06 will be allowed to go to an older version fo the code. Period. the only option was to get an '05 that had not done the ECU flash and mod that. No agreement was made between AMGa nd any tuner. The tuners simply did not address MB's issues of false warranty claims.

if there's already 832 e63's out there (i don't know if they mentioned that number as just for e63 or all cars with 63),
how many total e63's do you think they'll be able to sell this year? (as 2007 models) for US

Every vehicle in the VIN range may not be included in the campaign. This is why dealers are required to check VMI before performing campaigns to verify the campaign is required on a specific vehicle. Has to do with varying factors on the assembly line during production (i.e.: different vendors, part availability, etc.). If you want I can forward a PDF of the bulletin, PM your email address.
