Laminora Condensing Tubes

WoW. I've been on the road for 2 weeks . and lots of good info has transpirted. The laminora condensing tubes that where shown by BrianS are the same style that Kleemann uses in the upper part of their intake manifold on their Kompressor kit. they are really good pieces.

Phenolic spacers act as an insulator between different engine parts. It's often used between the IM and the block or the TB and IM to prevent the transfer of heat between parts. On my prior turbo cars, pre phenolic as others have mentioned, you could leave skin on the IM, afterwards, it would be cool to the touch. The effects become increased when you have temp sensors in the IM for example and they see a much cooler intake charge due to less heat transfer, regardless of block temp.

They will put nitrous on those head gasket time bombs but they won't do an e55.

Here are a couple of shots of the phenolics... The kit includes everything you see in the pic and I will include 4 M.B. gaskets as well (2 for each side) that sandwich the phenolic material and seal it on either side. So, you get 2 phenolic spacers, 10 stainless ARP bolts, 10 washers, 4 MB gaskets.

The phenolics were made 5mm thick as shown in Pic #2.

I am going to add these as part of the 80mm TB kit to make it a complete solution. I made 20 sets of these because I wanted to offer something to the guys that had to rip out their phenolics in order to install my CF airbox.. That was the main driving force behind doing this.. BUT, the main benefit at this point is that it will give you a complete thermal break between the bottom block and the top half of the motor.. The S/C & surge tanks should both see a nice temp drop with these installed.

I just want to add that most people who want a simple & quick solution should purchase the Evosport offerings.. If you are in a position where the top half of the motor has to come out (to do 80mm TB or heads or something else) then this solution would be better for you.

Victor,

How far off are we from production (4 months?) and what do you estimate the rwhp and cost to be (40 whp and 6K)? Looks like this is the mod to get a bunch of us running high 10s.
