I think its more aesthetically pleasing for your halogen bulbs to contrast with the HID's. That's just my .02

The 19172's are still pretty white more towards a 4300k color. The wedge bulb is 5 watts so you will never get that super bright color whether it be blue or white. I use the Polarg hyper white and hyper blues. Both are pretty bright and the white is a good match to your HID bulbs and the blue provides a contrast. I have the blue with my 8000k on my 65.
