Panorama or not?

I currently own a black 05' E55 with a sunroof. I'm in the market for silver E63. I am interested in comments/opinions regarding the panorama roof. I'm not a sunroof fan in general. I would prefer to delete the sunroof; however my wife/kids say they like it and silver E63 is currently available locally with a panorama roof.

Is the panorama roof loud and or are there any issues that I should be concerned with (i.e. noise)? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Thanks

My wife has the pano roof on her E55. The visual appeal is hard to beat on a light colored car. The openess that it gives you is great and the ambient lighting at night is terrific. Her car is a little over a year old and she has had no issues with the roof.

Your worst nightmare...
I have an 04 E55 with the Pano roof, I love every minute of it, however the roof is a bit noisy, or better yet it squirks from time to time nothing major and I could live with that, just make sure you test it before you buy it.

I personally do not like the look on cars that aren't black. Although mine doesn't make noise (yet), the only sunroof complaints come from the pano equipped cars. While the larger opening is nice, I don't like the fact that I must open both front and rear shades completely before I can tilt the roof open. I always liked the fact that on the standard roof, you could close the manual sunshade with the roof tilted open. From inside the car, there's very little difference unless you ride in the back. The rear passengers get a nice view, but they can't control the shade or open the glass. Even if it were a no cost option, I'd go back to the regular sunroof if I had it to do over again.

I have Pano on my car and really like it. Look and function. No noise here, ~20months and 20k miles.

Hardly ever use the Pano, but LOVE the look. Can't imagine the car without the glass roof. Wouldn't look the same IMO.

I used to have a 211 and I have to say the Pano Roof is well worth it. It is the best available option for the e-class in my opinion, besides for keyless go.

I hate them. I like the looks, though. I have heard too many creak and so that bothers me.

Panoramic roof

I'm not a fan of pano roof either, but like how it looks on a white car...

2006 E55

Mine has been flawless for 19k miles so far, I wouldn't be driving this car without it. The Pano Roof is mandatory AFAIC.

I like my pano roof as well. We had some frigid temperature here for the last couple of months and no noise at all. This morning was 4 degree and squeak-free.

Actually, FYI there is a switch for the rear passengers to control the sunshade.

Mine only creaks slightly when it is really cold out, and the car has not warmed up yet.

Absolutely....

E63 w/ pano and would NEVER get it without. LOVE it. Ambient lighting is awesome. There are NO rattles, no windnoise from it. Simply solid. Can't beat it day or night (sun or moon). Wife, passengers, myself....all love it.

Have the pano and the solar panels, great here in socal during those hot sunny days.

As for problems mine started to creak about a year ago and I finally took it in and got it fixed under warranty. No more creaks. Its worth it IMO.
