I vaguely remember my uncle using the argument of diminished value to force an insurance company into totalling a car that they preferred to fix. I can't remember if he used it to raise the repair estimates or to lower the comparison book value.
Good luck to ya. I definitely feel you. I miss my car so much and it suchs having your life in another person's hands.
I feel your pain. Hope your car is going to be back up and running again soon.

Thanks Derrick. Honestly, being a previous C320 owner, I don't really mind the C280 . I actually like both the interior and the exterior look of the W203s. I'll miss the beast's power though.

I'm sorry to learn about your tranny condition, buddy. I hope they'll fix it up right for you.

I didn't even think about Glenville / Barry this time coz the accident happened in the middle of no where (Do you know Town of Wayland on US20? I was coming back into Boston from Oishii Too Sushi in Sudbury, MA) and the cops called a local tow company to tow the car to their yard. Since I need to remove my car from that place asap, I just called Mercedes Roadside and they ended up towing my car to Herb Chambers in Braintree. Last time I was there, it took awhile for them to fix my car, but since then, I've be-friended the manager so he'll take good care of the car for me.

Premonitions?

First of all, my front end got hit by a huge piece of ice flying off of a Jeep's roof on Mass Pike. Then, my date and I both got car sick when we got the restaurant. When I went out to check on the damage from the ice, my pendant just fell off on to the ground. Afterwards, I told my date about the pendant and she was concerned and said that we should drive carefully when we're going back to Boston so that we don't get into an accident. Then, you probably know the rest of the story......

This is really strange. It's like she predicted the accident.

I'm a big believer in Charma and premonitions. I can't explain it but there some trend. Is she just a date or a potential keeper? This would be a cute "how we met" story a few years from now.

Camera shy, my ***. Get an infrared and hook us up!!

What pendent? You mean one on you or the car?

She's just a casual date, but would be on my to date list if I ever become single again. I don't think I'm going to post her pic here out of respect for her privacy.

I was wearing a pendant at the time. It was a Gucci pendant that I've bought a while ago but I haven't really wear it. After I made sure that the piece of ice didn't cause any major damage to my car, I turned around began walking away. Then, the necklace just fell off on to the ground.

Hold up now. Explain casual for me. Do you mean straight friends, but that you could see yourself having feelings? Or are you on the get to play a bit program? If you get to go on casual "dates", then i gotta learn your secret.

My wife would woop my *** if she saw me at dinner with some girl, even if we were truly friends.
Disclaimer: I only have about 2 or 3 true friends that are girls. They may be cute, but there is no intent to "do" anything.

At least you're okay, the car is certainly repairable.

Don't stress over the car, it'll soon be just as new

I see your carbon fiber lip in the front

Nah, I treat her more like a sister or daughter than a real "date". I like her and have feelings for her, but I don't want to get involved at this point.

I have a lot of female good friends from school, so my wife could care less. As long as I don't go fool around outside, she's fine with it.

It's good that my insurance company is 100% behind me. I"m not going to deal with the other party's insurance directly. They can duke it out with my insurance company. As of right now, there is a good chance that they'll accept all the suggested repairs.

Update:

Appraiser came out and looked at the car today. The rear end has an estimate of about 6K worth of damage. He thought the front end damage was caused by the tow, not the accident, so I had file another claim.

Since it was towed by two different companies, we need to figure out who did what and when. After a little investigation of my own, it became apparent that the first tow truck company called in by the police department at the time of the accident actually damaged my car. I'll have to pay the deductible on the repair for that one and then my insurance will pursue the tow company for my deductible back....... This really sucks.

Hey Kev,
Glad you're ok mate. I'm sorry to see this has happen and you've now got to go through that whole ball ache again. Hopefully this time you'll get her fixed in a more timely manner now that you know who you'll be dealing with. Was it the same area that got hit again?
