Last of the Mohicans (Evosport rotor group buy, actually)

You may recall that there was a group buy for those killer Evosport Rotors almost a year ago... we all signed up. Lots of talk / debate about slotted versus cross drilled, etc, etc. Cross drilled looked better... slotted was more effective, etc... Everyone got theirs... except for me.

I am the last of the group buy.

I never received mine because I asked Simon about the possibility of cross drilled AND slotted rotors. He said it might happen in the future. So I made my deposit and waited. And waited. 2006 came and went, and I continued to wait.

And then the holy grail of rotors was made just for me. Per Simon, I am the first and only one in existence that now owns the cross drilled AND slotted rotors from EvoSport. That won't last long, but I'll enjoy the moment for a little bit.

Aren't they purrrtyyyyy? Watch it, you're drolling on your keyboard.... haha!

Gotta say those are pretty! I have the slotted but the cross drilled are better looking. Your patience has paid off!

Ya, that's right.......now I see you were holding out on us, going behind our backs and getting the better design. Now, I'll really be pissed if you only payed the $1500.00 group buy price.

Of course I only paid the Group Buy price, plus a necessary design fee upgrade of a couple hundy. Hehe. I had my $500 deposit on hold for a year. If it makes you fee any better, I lost $25 I could of otherwise made in interest during that time....

By way, I think your holes are closer to edge than mine Mister....

By the way, I pretty much gave up on the idea they'd ever produce them since it had been so long... and was about to resort to the slotted ones. So, its a suprise to me as well. I had fully anticipated on being a regular group buy person as well.

Guess I was just lucky in this case... and stuck with it, always checking in with Simon. If you follow that original post, I mentioned I wanted cross drilled and slotted, as I already had on my old BMW 850. I even posted a pic of them.

how much difference is weight of slotted only vs. drilled only?

does the metal drilled out make any noticeable difference?

The difference in weight between the drilled and slotted is negligible.

The 34 lbs. unsprung weight savings over the stock rotors is due mainly to the aluminum hat and rotor.

Anyone know if these rotors are released to the wild? Also, is it possible to buy just the rears? I am still hoping to run the E63 rotors on the front, so all I really need is rears.

You can order now. Availability will be 2-3 weeks away.
With regards to rear rotors, I'm sure we can make that happen.

If there were enough people for a group buy would Evo be willing to do one?

Hello all, at this time we will not be entertaining a group buy on this product.

In all honesty, the brakes at $2k isn't a bad deal. I'd be down for the rear set. I wonder how I will like them matched up with the E63 fronts. Can EVO post the retail price on the rears?

I don't think it would match that great. I would just go with all 4 Evos.

Jangy, we do not sell the rears alone. However give me a call so I can figure out a price for you.
