Ok well I posted this here for the ones that can recall my first run in with this car. The post was back about a year ago. I had owned my e55 for some time and had a run in with a 996 turbo s. From a dead stop at a light he came from behind me and put 2-3 cars on me by 80-90 when I shut it down. I talk to the guy he says all stock and a tip. Most of you on here said it was my driving and then some of you jumped in with all the cars you beat and by how bad. Shortly after I sent the car to kleemann and waited to find this guy again. Well lets jump to about 3wks ago and I am at my painters and see his car and ask what its doing there. Come to find out the car has an evo stage 4 or evo 640 pkg so I feel better about losing in the e ( he says only had exhaust when he raced my e)and I am glad I didnt find him after the mods or I would have been let down again. So I tell my guy I want to race him in the 65. I saw him driving sat and turned around and caught up and he was game but no where to run with all the cars. Coming home from the drag strip today I see him again and turn around and he is game again. We meet up from a roll and I win the first race and he wants to do it again so we run about 2-3 more times from a roll and he beats me every time. We pull over and talk and he asks if I want to run from a dig and say yeah why not. I have my drags on so figure I can do ok. So on race one I take him from a dig and let off about 100-120 dont recall and he asks to do it again. This time my wife laughs because as we wait for the light to change I put the car in dyno mode and do a burn out. We go at it again and same out come but this time at 120mph (I think) he starts to pull very fast and passes. So I was happy to run him again and man that car is just super fast. I dont know if the ecu tune would help with racing this car but I cant get over a 6 has more on the top end then a v12? Any way nice guy and had more fun on the 5-7 races we had then racing on the 1/4. I need more speed or a faster car. I had my bfg's at 25psi, was running my 101 and still he would pull from a roll very easy.

Evolution Motor Sports Underrated......
I sold my 996 Evolution GT 700 to buy the E55 as we had our 3rd on the way. All I can say is that Evolution appears to dramatically underrate their HP. I had a GT 600 kit and then went to a GT700. The car dynoed at close to 740 HP and 740 Tq with a more restrictive Europipe exhaust the Evo ships (Miltek) with their kits . I would expect that the GT 600 would be similarly underrated.

Although I never took my Pcar to the track, I was told that the GT700 was a mid-10 second car in the right hands. It was an unbelievable beast but so was my GT600.....those cars should not be underestimated.

I now have a Renntech Stage 5 with the IC pump upgrade and although my car is amazing, it is no where close to the tunnel vision inducing GT640 and GT700.

Thanks for your insight. I dont think people get how fast these cars are. I didnt get it until I raced them. I really think my 65 was giving it all she had but was just out done and I am sure the turbo weighs less as well. The owner thought 3800lbs but I was thinking more like 3400-3500lbs I dont know. I know my car with the wife and me should be pushing 4800lbs. I dont know if the guy had the stg 4 (600hp) of the gt640 pkg. I think the 640 because he talked of bigger turbos and on the turbo s you dont change the turbos until the 640 and up kits. I told him if he ever sells to call me.

those cars are wicked fast as sick from a roll, its all power to weight. Maybe an intake and a little ECU tuning and it may have been closer
