If attached properly it wont fly off at 120mph, but we have had some issues with our twin jet engine E55. Everytime the afterburners kicked in, the spoiler flew off about 100 yards!
j/k of course
Now in all seriousness. As long as you clean the decklid with alcohol. The spoiler will never fall off any speed. It attaches just like the OEM. Also, once it on the car a few days it becomes almost impossible to take off unless you use some major elbow grease and fishing line.

You can line it up with the brake light. I like to line it up with the sides with the end of the trunk instead by holding one hand at each side. Try pretending to install it before you peel the tape. Try a few different ways. Just remember that once you peel the tape and stick it, its stuck! Dont forget to clean the decklid edge with alcohol. Again you can also SLIGHTLY mist the edge in the middle are with water or quick detailer in case you mess up.

It is.
That's what it says in my door jamb anyway. Actually, it says C744.
I dropped mine off at the body shop today. They say I can pick it up Monday afternoon, can't wait. What's everyone getting charged for painting? My guy is quoting $100.00 out the door.

Anyone get their spoilers painted and installed yet? What's your opinion on the quality, installation and overall look once installed?

Just installed mine today. It fits almost perfectly. There is very minor gap around the center light where it does not fit completely flush, but you can't tell unless you get real close. I had my dealer install it so they did there best.

What about the quality and finish? The reason I ask, and I want to do this gently, is mine has pits, and some other imperfections. I don't want to blast Neal as he seems like a totally nice, fair and honest guy. But even the body shop that I got mine painted at remarked about the lack of quality. This is probably the wrong forum for addressing this. I'm just gonna email Neal.
But yours is good? Maybe I just had a bad one.

Not sure how its lacking quality. Most parts that are not painted already need to be finished, sanded and then painted to get out any imperfections. These are all from the same mold, so it is VERY uncommon for something to be wrong. But take somes pictures and email it to me of what you are talking about so i can see what you mean and if something needs to be done i will take care of it for you.
Anyway, I'll gather some photos. The body shop guy was a little over the top when he was telling me what he thought about the spoiler. My email will clear it up a little. I'm guessing it's my fault. I just told them to paint it, as I thought it was paint ready. I didn't realize that it would need to be sanded and finished prior to paint. Without paint, it looked perfect to me. But once paint and clear coat got on it, you could see the imperfections. Again, I want to stress that the imperfections are small and you need to be on top of it to see them. From afar, it looks great.
I have no worries that we'll get it worked out. Thanks Neal.

These don't need much, he had to sand it anyway because otherwise the paint would not stick.
But about 2 minutes sanding on the top and around the edges to finish it is all it needs. There really should not be any imperfections after that is done and painted.

In all honesty, a good body shop you should not need to say anything. They will tell you what they need to do. But like Kev said, needs nothing more then sand, primer and paint. There are so many bad body shops out there that really dont know what they are doing and cannot do anything more then fix a dent or repaint a fender. If they start to question anything, leave and find a different body shop.

Got mine on Monday and did notice a pimple or two that I could easily sand down with 1200 girt paper. No biggie! Spoiler looks great nonetheless.... thanks Neal!
If you have to tell your body shop how to prep and paint this spoiler.... I’d walk away. A good shop doesn't need to be told how to paint a simple body part.
Post them pics fellaz!

Shoot guys...
I hope I didn't get everybody all riled up. I'm sure the problem was with my body shop. They probably didn't do the prep work good enough and now they're trying to blame the product. This is the first time I've ever purchased any kind of fiberglass body peice for any car. So I wasn't familiar enough with the process to be able to know what to look for.
I'm sure everybody else will have a better experience than me.

I don't think you got everyone riled up, but these spoilers, even though from a good mold, definately need to be 180 or 320 sanded, primed let a day to dry; wet sand and then paint. But, like Neil said any good bodyshop should know this. Any bodyshop that just sands and then paints it, without priming I would not recommend. My front edge needed a little attention, but then again I am kind of picky about this stuff. Overall the spoilers met my expectations, and this is coming a bodyshop owner.
