E63 Style Rear Spoilers! $225!
If attached properly it wont fly off at 120mph, but we have had some issues with our twin jet engine E55. Everytime the afterburners kicked in, the spoiler flew off about 100 yards!
j/k of course
Now in all seriousness. As long as you clean the decklid with alcohol. The spoiler will never fall off any speed. It attaches just like the OEM. Also, once it on the car a few days it becomes almost impossible to take off unless you use some major elbow grease and fishing line.
That's what it says in my door jamb anyway. Actually, it says C744.
I dropped mine off at the body shop today. They say I can pick it up Monday afternoon, can't wait. What's everyone getting charged for painting? My guy is quoting $100.00 out the door.

What about the quality and finish? The reason I ask, and I want to do this gently, is mine has pits, and some other imperfections. I don't want to blast Neal as he seems like a totally nice, fair and honest guy. But even the body shop that I got mine painted at remarked about the lack of quality. This is probably the wrong forum for addressing this. I'm just gonna email Neal.
But yours is good? Maybe I just had a bad one.

Anyway, I'll gather some photos. The body shop guy was a little over the top when he was telling me what he thought about the spoiler. My email will clear it up a little. I'm guessing it's my fault. I just told them to paint it, as I thought it was paint ready. I didn't realize that it would need to be sanded and finished prior to paint. Without paint, it looked perfect to me. But once paint and clear coat got on it, you could see the imperfections. Again, I want to stress that the imperfections are small and you need to be on top of it to see them. From afar, it looks great.
I have no worries that we'll get it worked out. Thanks Neal.

These don't need much, he had to sand it anyway because otherwise the paint would not stick.
But about 2 minutes sanding on the top and around the edges to finish it is all it needs. There really should not be any imperfections after that is done and painted.

WAIT SO WHAT EXACTLY SHOULD I TELL MY BODY SHOP TO DO? I WAS ABOUT TO GO THERE RIGHT NOW...BUT I GUESS ILL WAIT TILL TOMARO SO I CAN TELL THEM THE RIGHT WAY theyll prob laugh at me for telling them how to paint it....but whats the right way of doing it????
If you have to tell your body shop how to prep and paint this spoiler.... I’d walk away. A good shop doesn't need to be told how to paint a simple body part.
Post them pics fellaz!
I hope I didn't get everybody all riled up. I'm sure the problem was with my body shop. They probably didn't do the prep work good enough and now they're trying to blame the product. This is the first time I've ever purchased any kind of fiberglass body peice for any car. So I wasn't familiar enough with the process to be able to know what to look for.
I'm sure everybody else will have a better experience than me.
