Track Results Last Night
First time on the track. Track prep was very good (my buddy and I were the first two cars on the track-gotta love VHT ) The only bad thing was there was about a 15-20 mph head/cross wind at the head of the track. As soon as the car came out from behind the stands, the wind would push it over. I'm sure that killed some of the E/T and trap. The temperature was about 67 degrees.
I had my son drive because, historically, he's always done about 2/10ths better than me (I outweigh him by about 50 lbs and he's frankly a better driver).
The car was set up as follows: esp on, suspension set in "comfort" and tranny in "S" mode, ECU reset.
On the first run we employed the "mash the gas and let off" to launch technique. That was a mistake as the track prep was so good he should have stayed in it the entire launch. That was the best run of the night:
R/T - .791
60' - 1.795
1/8 mile - 7.751
1/4 mile - 12.041
Trap - 115.25
Almost 11's!!
The next run was against a modded C6 Z06. We spoke with the guy earlier. His car is nasty! He's got cams, headers and a tune. We actually had a better 60' but he caught up pretty quick. He ran an 11.759 with a 122.21 trap. Here's what we put down. Also, this was a hot lap.
R/T - .847 (hate that "pro-tree" light)
60' - 1.806
1/8 mile - 7.831
1/4 mile - 12.160
Trap - 114.40
We ran twice more; the 3rd run sucked because we spun in the box. The 4th run was the 2nd best of the night as they re-preped the track with VHT. That run was a 12.148.
We'll probably go out again next Wednesday to see if we can creep into the 11's. I have a friend who is going to get the D.A. for the track so we can do some corrections for altitude. I'll keep you posted.
Overall, not too disappointed. I really wanted to see 11's but I might have to go down to sealevel for that.
By the way, I do have video but for some reason, my computer is not recognizing my video camera. I have had nothing but problems trying to get video tape of the beast.

CONGRATS Thats an awesome run with ESP on - great 60ft - if thats on street tires its pretty damn awesome - I did a 1.784 back when I ran 12.169 on street tires and at the time I think it was one of the fastest 60ft times out there - there was no way I could have done it with ESP on - had to do it with ESP off and soft launch and only floor it once the rear end had set. Really an awesome run and I am hoping you and your sun crack the 12 second barrier - not many have done it with stock E55's

The reality of it is...I'm not stock. I've got a R/T Stage 5 so, while I'm not too stoked about the times, I'm not too disappointed, given the conditions. Also, at sea level I'm pretty sure I'd be in the 11's. The 60' time is probably the best part about the run since I have stock Conti's with about 14K miles. Almost slicks.

DR's are next on the list...as soon as the Conti's are completely done. I'll tell you though...with the track prep last night, the car was hooking up like a mad dog with the exception of one run. I'm not sure DR's would have made that big of a difference, but who knows, it may have pushed us into the 11's.

Josh! What's up my friend. Nice to see you're still around. I'm thinking of going out next Wednesday. The wind was really blowing hard out there last night and at the end of the track you could feel the car get knocked back and to the side from the wind. Let me know if you want to roll out there.

Looks like you guys had some fun.I am curious why the not so great numbers though.I understand the track had some bad wind and it does have a high elevation, but still, the mph seems way low for a Rt5 car?The DA must have been extremely bad or the car wasnt performing well. The 60fts are there but traps and even et's seem low to me?Was anybody else talking about low trap speeds for that evening or was it just your car?

I'd love to go but I still may be banned due to that one incident with that jerk off that works at the track.

Nice - but have to say with RT stage 5 I would have thought 11's for sure ... Traps are not that impressive - Stock cars run 114/115 traps.
Only way to have guaged it better would be to run a stock car in same conditions ... great 60' though esp on Conti's think they are the best I have seen on this rubber.

Nice Runs!!!
I am disapointed that I couldn't make it out. Next week won't work out for me either. Mark my words, "I will take the beast out for a little fun"....I just need to find time.
Our cars would have made a good comparison
GO REBELS!!

Look at the modded C6 Z06's numbers. They are not as good as most stock Vette's that I've seen. I haven't seen one C6 Z run that slow of a trap speed and this car was modded. Most stock Z's are trapping around 125 so something must be up with this track because both of the times listed for the E and the Z are off.
What does REN 5 have in the kit?

Trust me...I wasn't very happy with the trap speeds. I g-tech'd my car a while back and it trapped 121 so I know this was probably an abberation. Believe it or not, we ran the 6th fastest time of the night. The only faster cars were the modded C6 Z06, another modded C6, a twin turbo F-body, another highly modded F-body and a turbo charged Mustang. The beast even ran faster than a couple of street bikes. We'll try again, hopefully this next Wednesday. Again, I am still trying to upload my videos and as soon as I do I'll post them for your review.

Just got the D.A. calculations for the track Wednesday night. According to my source, the D.A. was 3000'. Using an altitude correction factor of 0.964 for time and 1.0381 for trap speed, my corrected time/trap is 11.608 @ 119.64 mph.
While that may be the case, I sure would like to see those numbers up on the scoreboard.

Now that looks more like an RT5 car.
