why not air intake
Just needed to know rather then an airbox why not the air intake as found on other cars? Is there a reason for this other then no place for the cone filters and tubes to run or is the air box better in some way. Maybe I am worng and that is why I am asking but wouldnt a tube with a filter somewhere near the front or bottom front of the car just passing air back to the TB work better then the air passing thru the box that is sitting on the hot engine? Any one with any reason as to why one but not the other please help out. Thanks guys

Any air intake with its mouth 'behind' the radiator will suck hot air and lose power. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to put two (one for each side) cone filters ahead of the radiator. In addition cone filters will get no ram effect (if it helps) as they aren't behind the front grill.
