GOT IT! (No pics yet... that will come later, but A/C & a nav question here)

So, I picked up the E from TSmithMD (on here). Thanks Todd! I had a great drive home!

I almsot rear ended a few people as I was learning the car and the nav, etc.

One thing I wasn't able to get to what I'd say satisfactory is the A/C. Even at MAX cool and the temp turned to "Lo" for all 4 zones, it wasn't that great. I couldn't make myself 'cold' which suprised me. It's only 80 out today and wasn't sunny at all.

Do you guys have strong air conditionings?

Can the NAV lady shut up? Is there a way to not have her speak at all?

I don't have a E55, but my A/C is awful. It cools, but it takes a while before the cabin gets down to temp.

Have fun with the Houston summer. I ended up getting 20% tint all around illegally. I have to slip the guy a $20 to pass inspection.

I drive a S430.

Is it under warranty? You can always have the dealer look at it.

This time of year, that thing should be freezing. Just get it checked. No worries, they do work.

As for the voice. You have to be quick, but here is how you do it. Look on the command unit. On the lower left hand side, there is a buttong that say RPT (I think). Hit it and the voice will repeat the last command it gave. The volume knob controls that voice ONLY when the voice is active. So, to lower the volume, push repeat and start turning the volume down. When you are done, you can crank the volume back up and it will raise the stereo button. You can turn off the voice and control the fade. that is under the nav services menu. I haven't played with mine in a bit, but I know it does it. I think you either go into nav and then settings or just go into services.

Hope that gives you a start.

yes it is. It only has 16k miles and it's an '05.

I'm taking it in this week. It needs an alignment as well.

I have literally never purchased a car that didn't need an alignment... and this is one of my first pre-owned cars to buy. Even the new ones always seem to need it.

And no... it's not the crown in the road. I know the difference.

That being said, the car is AWESOME. I'm going to really enjoy this car.

Congrats on the purchase. We should get together one of these days. I usually play a round or two in Sugarland on the weekends.

I play at the Houstonian most of the time (I do miss Old Orchard though). Cooling hasn't been a problem for me, but I dont typically keep it ice cold. You can test it out and see how it compares.

We almost joined there last year. It's very nice.

I live in on Sugar Creek currently, but am looking to move.

Old Orchard was started by our family's best friends and 3 of my best friends growing up were pro's out there for a while. I miss OO a lot! I miss the free golf.

It's weird to see it getting built on!

I don't play golf, but I'm an amateur photographer always looking to improve my photos.

Shoot me up if you guys want to have your cars shot at (with a camera).

Congrats Scott! I also purchased one today as well!

The A/C on the E55 is nowhere near as quick to cool as the Porsche unit but it shouldn't take long to cool off the cabin.

I can vouch for the unexpected closure rates behind other cars. They are sooo much fun to drive! Enjoy!!!!!!!

Sandoval,

No mods planned until warranty is out.

Newton, let's get those pics! Maybe next weekend?

Zoink, yeah, I worked him over big time! lol (kidding b/c he gets on this board)
In actuality, it was a couple of thousand higher than market, but it was the right color, right car, and I know the previous owner is a 'car-guy' which counts for a lot in my book.

Congratulations Scott,

I know you are playing with you new toy right now, My A/C has a discharge temp of 40 F +-2 on an 80 day. A person can't stand direct flow from vents too cold. This is in a black car too. In the past window tint was a necessity to make up for less than adequate A/Cs, not any more. I am so happy to be tint free after 30 years of it. I hear voices, yes you can change the volume and turn her off or change her accent to British.

Enjoy be careful and keep those Honda's out of your air intake.

Thanks...
It's pouring rain, or I'd get pics today.

Yacht, how did you get a measurement of your air discharge temp?
My air is definitely tolerable when it's directly on you.

Don't go out in the rain!!! I must admit when it comes to A/C my OCD comes out. I buy these little thermos (Cooper 1246-02 Pocket Test) by the dozens. They are small and will slide in to the drivers left A/C vent, I leave it in all the time. The one in pic is a little different than mine red part may need to be cut down.
