data logging with autotap
I have been using autotap on my CL600 the last few days data logging IAT. Today I added ignition timing advance to the graph. What should the ignition timing advance be at WOT. Sorry for sharing this here, but there arent any Cl's datalogging that I know of, thanks guys.

DUDE!! I just posted on getting a datalogger last night. I am looking at the DL1. Can you post other options and or features of any you know?

it does a whole lot more then i need it for. www.autotap.com should have plenty of info. Renntech would like us 600 members who have had increased their boost to think that we need their IC pump upgrade, but I knew that my 200.00 spent would verify that there are no issues with my IAT's, hence this has been verified as my IAT's plummet every time I go to WOT.

E55JAY has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space.
I don't measure timing advance. My focus is IAT, engine temp, O2 sensors, rpm's and speed.

just dumped all of my old messages, sorry. If the engine senses high IAT's it will also retard timing.

as well as dump a butt load of fuel.
i ran autotap and it really helped by giving tons of info. my only disappointment (and it's a little one) was that the sample rate is not constant. because of this you need to acquire as much data as possible to try to fill in the gaps before you can make an accurate assessment of what's going on.
really worth it when diagnosing problems...like an mb recall or something.

as adam stated, the sample rate is at 5 second intervals (i knew it was poor but i didn't actually know it was that bad). this is much too far in between to get immediate useable data and therefor one needs to collect a LOT of data to be able to piece together the whole picture.
consider that a 4th gear wot dyno run only lasts for about 5 seconds and you can see the problem.

This effect was pretty frustrating when I was trying to track ignition retardation during gear shifts - hard to capture the change in ignition timing at the moment the car is completing it's shifts.

if you close the table and everything on the screen but keep open one preprogrammed graph you can data log at an extremely fast sampling rate
