i'd appreciate any help offered. i am currently in the last few months of a cl500 lease. i was on the wait list for a e55 and changed my mind after seeing the cl on the floor. the way i figure it, this will be my last chance to drive an amg before my children hound me into driving something that runs on kitchen grease or lawn clippings. in other words i want an amg. the only problem is that i cant decide between the e63 or the cls63.
does the cls63 handle significantly better than the e63?
and does anybody have an opinion on the e63 wagon?

LOLOL....doing your part for Global warming !!! I sat in an E63 back seat at the Chicago Auto Show...I am 5'6 and my head was hitting the roof in back. If your kids are taller than a munchkin, or your passengers for that matter...go with the E...swoopy lines on the CLS but weird inside IMO...handling probably goes to the E also. You have to live with it...drive them both and choose.

Handling/Speed go to the E63. The CLS is actually less aerodynamic and weighs more.

CLS is just about style now that an E63 can be had with the 030 package. mb plays the CLS off as sportier but it really is 200 lb heavier and feels every bit more ponderous when you try to get moving.

The cls looks far better in my eyes but I like function over form. If you like form over function it is CLS all the way.

You have a rough decision to make there. I feel very bad for you

i was thinking hard about the cl63
amazing car but i couldn't get a price from my dealer that made much sense
in the press i'm seeing 130 my dealer is telling me 150?
either way
i think i'm only going a little faster for a lot more money
i'll content myself on beating a leased e63
but the wagon still seems a little different to me
does anybody know if it come with 3rd row seating
my kids could take pictures on the way to the quarter mile out my back window

Do a search on E55 wagon, there are a couple of them on here and the cars seem to be great performers.

yep cl63 or if your rich unlike me get the cl65. outta the choices you gave i would get the E63 then the CLS63 and last the E63 waggon

I'm a purist at heart and yet I say get the one you want. the difference in performance between the CLS and E bodies is minimal. I am also a wagon lover, so that is also a potential. I don't think you will be dissapointed with any of those choices.

It is funny how I got so bashed for saying that the E55 was a better performer than the CLS55 back in '06 and now the truth is coming out.

I prefer the looks of the E63 over the CLS63. Performance/handling difference is probably negligible. I am not a wagon guy myself. Get an E63 and make sure the wife has a nice SUV for when the kids are with ya. Thats my $0.02.
