that is one the saddest postings i've ever seen, that whole rant was pointless on a selling standpoint. i really doubt he's gonna sell that thing on eBay. he really should be concentrating only on selling it, anyone interested cannot even see the details of the car. oh well

Your source for all the dirt on mbworlders!
When this thread's view count rivals that of his ebay ad that's been up for a WEEK, I have to shed a little tear for Nags, especially because 90% of the people looking have no idea what he's talking about. I'm going to offer him a couple Jackson's and an air freshener for his rebuilt 55.

So my offer ended up expiring without it being acknowledged and the auction itself ended but I received the following email tonight...
Am I missing something here? This doesn't look like a phishing scam so I'm confused. Isn't an ebay auction a binding contract? So legally, does this guy have to sell the car to me for $500? There was no reserve on the auction, just a buy it now price.

Complete your eBay transaction in 5 easy steps:
1. Buyer and seller agree on the transaction terms and the selling price.
2. Seller contacts eBay with the transaction details, eBay accepts the transaction and offers purchase protection to the buyer (if the transaction is declined, no further action will be required from either the buyer or the seller).
3. The buyer sends payment to an eBay Representative and not to the seller directly. After the payment was received, eBay will notify the seller to start the shipping. The seller has three business days to send the tracking number of the shipment to the buyer and to eBay. If no tracking number is provided, a full refund will be immediately sent to the buyer.
4. Buyer receives the merchandise and has five days to inspect it. If it is complete and as described, the buyer will accept the merchandise. If he refuses the merchandise, the buyer will ship the merchandise back to the seller within three business days.
5. After the inspection period has been finished, the buyer will contact eBay with the result of the inspection. If the buyer refuses the merchandise, the refund will be sent to the buyer after the tracking number for the returned shipment has been verified.
