Buying an E63 with option questions. Help needed!
First it feels good being back on this forum as a former SL55 owner. I'm pretty set on getting an E63 in the next few weeks. I want it with the performance pkg code 030 which is hard to find. But after reading the brochure I don't see:
1) the TPS (tire pressure sensing mentioned anywhere). Is the TPS not available or comes standard or what? I loved it on my SL55 and was accurate to 1lb.
I do see:
2) Panorama Roof - does this heat up the interior in the summer or is it really nice? Are the power sunshades a cause of rattles? I hate anything that vibrates or rattles.
3) Does the comfort mode for the tranny always start in 2nd gear regardless of throttle opening?
4) How bad or not bad is it in snow with 4 excellent snow tires? Anyone drive an E63 with the 030 performance pkg with the LSD (limited slip differential) in snow? I have to believe that this would make a significant difference - and in launching the car in the dry for faster times.
5) I'm supposed to drive one this Friday when my dealer gets one in but is there real audible thunder with say 1/2 to wide open throttle? I love thunder!
6) Does the trunk closer close the trunk if you left it a bit open by mistake and are already on the move.
I know these are a lot of questions but I need to know.

I came out of a CL55. The car is a lot more nimble. More fun to drive in my opinion. TPS is not standard. I don' t think it is available. The transmission starts in 2nd in C and S. You can make it start in 1st in S by holding it M to about 3500 RPMS. After that it will start in 1st till you cut it off. There is also some talk about a sneeky ECU reset. My CL would always start in 1st in S. Will be taking car in for service next week. Hope they can do something about this.

My E55 does just fine on dedicated snow tires. I don't have a LSD. At least on the 55, you can open the trunk remotely. To close it, you have to push the button inside the trunk lid or push the interior switch. You can't close it with the remote.

My transmission always starts in 1st gear in S and in 2nd gear when in C. That's how it should be and I don't understand why are some folks getting 2nd gear starts in S and only 1st gear if they are dirving hard? Pano roof: From doing some rersearch on this last month it seems that most people have not had problems with rattles. The headliner is just like a rollo, made out of fabric, there wouldn't be much chance to get rattle there, it's more the multiple seals that may not be air tight. Is #6 really one of your buying criteria?

TPS is there..The TPS setting uses abs wheel signal to detect a low tire
It CAN Be turned on Via the SDS
or The FULL TPS option that uses sensors inside of the wheels
Re the Pano Roof it has a Full Sun Shade that will help on the Heat factor

Sounds like a great car, but are you sure your dealer will have one by this Friday?
I thought the E63 w/030 performance package will not be in until May

Thank you very much for the details. Most E63's with the 030 pkg come with the panorama roof so that makes me feel good. What you say about the tranny makes complete sense. Otherwise would not be logical at all. #6 is not a necessity at all just curiosity.

He's going To have an E63 for me to drive and can get one w/030 in 2 weeks or so. It is hard finding them with 030. I will PM some more info.

My transmission will start in 1st in S mode only once the engine temp is above 80C. Before that it will start in 2nd, unless I drive it hard, then it relents and goes to 1st.
In C mode it always starts in 2nd.
