Thanks for the kind words 320 dreamer, but .... not sure the answer for this poster is that simple.
Like maverik259, it wasn't entirely clear to me whom john0183 was addressing when he posted "Hi am interested in a pair also how much would it be for a w211 2003 e500 and would it work without any cutting and is it plug and play please respond thank you."

... His question begs more questions than answers ... and being only his 2nd post, I let it go.

Honestly, I was not aware that a 2003 e500 came equipped with any sort of shift buttons (never seen them and don't find it documented, but if it did, they were probably doubles?) ... so to fit ANY solution to this car ... be it the replacement paddle pieces (for buttons) that started this thread (and were never really produced to anybodies satisfaction as far as I know) OR the newer AMG paddles ,,,, THERE WOULD clearly be some cutting and/or filling or recovering involved (all of which myself and others have done to wheels like this)

Additionally, if it came with doubles, the paddles themselves should be essentially direct plug replacement.

But, since in my post a few posts back (where I attached some information about the paddle converter module), I suggested one should send me a PM if they had other questions .... (and I got no such PM) I, like maverik259, assumed that the question was not fully formed.

Cheers,
Chris

The paddle converter is intended for cars that came with the old amg configuration of shift buttons (normally open with a zener and normally closed with a resistor) to allow them to use paddles (the paddles being simple normally open switches) ... your car having never come with ANY configuration of shift buttons does not get paddles THAT easily.
If you want to PM me your VIN, I will take a look at it when I get back into town (after the 1st).

You may want to see if your wheel has room for paddles .... if not, you are going to need a different wheel too.

Chris
