I followed one out of my neighborhood yesterday. I though it was at first the F430 but realized it was the brand new 599 and I just read it runs 11.2@129.3

I got out of my neighborhood and about 1 mile later we were lined up at a light together...perfect...EXCEPT I had my wife and baby in the car.

I looked over and the passengers legs were on the dash...I was like WTF...are they too good to respect that car?

When the light turned green he let it rip...I wish I was riding solo as I would have run him. My wife then asked me if that car was faster than ours and I said it has 611hp...if we get cams we might be able to keep up. She didn't buy it.

The mag times of 20-80mph time is 4.2 sec...virtually dead even with my car.

I just got back from Newport Beach where there are 3 of those running around. If you go to Youtube.com and type in ferrari 599, you will see the slr and the carrera gt beat the 599.

Yeah the front mounted Enzo V12 sounded raw...had the baby not been in the car I would have run him to at least 70mph but would have suffered a slap in the chest from my wife, lol.

Depends what you want the car for.
CGT is virtually undriveable on normal roads,scrapes and grinds front end almost constantl(a very unpleasant and potentially costly thing) but is a perfect track car.
599 can be driven anywhere ,as a daily driver even...

 

how does Ford GT do against the CGT and 599?

 

Saw a 599 in newport last week. The car is sex on wheels.

 

I saw a ferrari 599 GTB 3 times in the past month. Twice it was the same car by my house. Unfortunately one time it was parked and the other time it was going in the opposite direction in traffic. I dont think it looks very good;

E55baller- What color was the one you saw? The ones I've seen are dark greyish color.

 

The 599 is magnificent. The engine is like what I imagined a great engine would sound like. It really has pedigree.

My friend raced one in his stock SLR in Germany, rolling starts and beat it 4 times in the row...now he gets Evotech threatment...and will have around 680-700 hp...

 

I beat the dog snot out of a black 599 GTB the other day up here in norcal on I280. Guy pulled up next to me downshifted and nailed it. I let him pull ahead a car length before I dropped into third dropped the hammer and left him so bad I couldnt see him in the rear view anymore.There is no replacement for displacement...'cept displacement with forced induction......but I wasnt in the benz

 

Yep dark grey, it has to be the same car. MD plates. Driver was about 40-45, dark hair.

 

Damn with 775 rwhp anything will be in your rear view mirror. That must have been carnage. Your car must trap 145mph+

FISKE, the Ford GT is only a tick faster than the Z06 (depending on driver)

 

pulled 131.2 traps in this heads up test against the CGT and Enzo... I think the Ford GT would outrun a Z06, they put down 525HP to the wheels, they do weigh more though....
