Traction traction...

That's all the lil vette needs. Once it hooks, you're dead.

Don't know why all you AMG guys are moping off this video? Did any of you care to notice the SL65 trap?? 116.xx that's ridiculous SL dude was playing w/radio or little massage lady stitched into his seat lol.. !! yes I love the Z06 but his time should've been much lower to.

There both quite equal in stock form, in capable hands. If money wasn't a limitting factor I'd own a SL65 in a heart beat

There is no way to tell that was an SL65, the only thing you could see was that it was a SL, but 12.4 points to a totally different engine...

That shut me up...LOL

Ok ok, well the SL65 RennTech still has a chance of running with a Z06 lol...but it looks like stock vs stock, drivers being equal, the Z06 would take it.

Still, that 12.4 @ 116 was weak for an SL65.

Hey Trez, how's this bike gonna hang with a Hayabusa? or the Kawasaki ZX-14?

122 hp and 419 lbs. 0-60 in 2.8 are not bad for a BMW bike.

Right before they launch, you can hear the Twins revving, no doubt, 65 obviously had something go wrong? or just got a bad launch and took it EZ down the 1/4 knowing his time would be way off.

LOL, Manufacture rate 169 HP not 122 I don't know where you got that from. I have another 18 added. Haven't dyno'd the bike though so I can't be sure.

Nevermind, I was looking at the R1200S not the K1200S, which has 167 hp.
Nice numbers.

Mine is actually the K1200R, which is basically the same as the K1200S but with a much meaner naked look. It did quite well against all the Jap bikes. First BMW to be able to compete. Which is why i had to have it.

Quote: I hate to say it but I was rocked by a c6 z06 today and we ran 3 times. froma roll he would pull fast and just keep going and from a dig i held him off until 80-100 (dont recall) then he just passed on by. We stopped to talk and he said he had a tune and a K&N in take. His car made 480whp on the same dyno I made 550whp. What is thw weight on the z06? That car was fast!!
I raced an SL65 in my 460 rwhp Z06 (stock) and from a 50-120 roll I was 2 cars ahead and still pulling. I then got some grief from a forum member who went on to tell me that a few mags ran the Z06 to a 12.x@<120 and that taking the average of different SL times, the SL is faster..lol.

Anyways, the SL65 is a beast, and if i comes across a nieve Z06 driver, it will win for sure. It is one of the fastest stock cars I have raced along with a FGT..

That BMW would get RAPED by a Busa or 14,let alone my 1k...I wish I lived closer to show you.
BMW K1200R:
141.1 rwhp
83.5ft/lb
10.50@130.76mph
which is on par w a good rider on a current 600,a modern liter bike would leave it for dead...
I've never even seen or heard of a 9 sec BMW

SL65 driver was either sleeping or didn't not know how to drive it. I have seen SL65's run in the 11's all day and all night bone stock.

Motorcyclist Magazine. As well as other mag's,all the performance #'s are in the back for all the current bikes. They're reasonably accurate, but the 1/4mi tines are rider dependant of course
I hope I didnt come off sounding like a di*kh*ead,I just re-read my post&I was half asleep when I posted

Umm,motorcycle not car....

Come to think of it Parabellum built a big hp BMW for an article in Motorcyclist called Heavy Artillery back in the mid to late '90's but it promptly blew itself up
Luftmeister also threw big bucks into a BMW engine for a bike article, but that too also grenaded

That was a slow Z06 as well. 11.8@122 is pretty slow. Mine ran 11.4@126 right out of the box. Must have been a hot day as both were slow. I really want to run a Renntech SL or CL65 if anyone is in the Dallas area and wants to have some friendly races.
