Car stalls sometimes after the 1st startup, normal?
My new used 2004 E55 sometimes stalls right away after I start it up in the morning, is this normal? The idle is a little jerky after I restart it for about 20 seconds. If this is not normal does anyone know what the issue is?
Thanks for the help,
Ethan

My idle is also a bit jerky for 1st 20 seconds or so.... but from what I read in this forum plus having 3 AMG's doing the same thing, I can conclude it's normal.
As for the stall, no... never happened. Was your stall right after you turn on the engine or it was on for a while (couple secs) and then stalled?

if ur car is under warranty have it looked at, the stalling is for sure not normal.
but the jerk it may be that ur throttles plates are dirty and just need cleaning (dont quote me on that)

Just to clarify a bit... What I meant w/ jerk is that the idle is not smooth.... I cannot say it's rough.... it's just not that smooth (my beater maxima is smoother :nix ). It disappears after couple seconds... and is not there once the engine is hot.
So OP, what do you mean w/ "jerk"? Just like what I described above... or worse?

I see... so the engine did start and went off immediately. Then no, it never happened... the only thing happened was that I didn't turn the key long enough

I'd suggest you bring it to the dealer.... I know your E has lots of miles.... did you buy extended warranty? If not, this could be the start of your nightmare.... better buy one now.

....as for the jerky and rough idle for the first 20 seconds, that I would say is normal.....for a performance engine with 500 ponies!
(you are waking the beast up!)

Thanks for the advice. The intercooler pump is shot allready, so I will have that looked at along with the stalling issue.
