Sorry guys but I have been having a hard time finding the info I need despite searches and simply browsing through numerous threads. Thought I might get some help by addressing a few questions that I have.....
1. With the E63 having 8.5/18 up front, has anyone tried a 255/40/18 up front? How about 285/30/18 in the rear. Was thinking PS2 and won't even get into the tire mess here....
2. Where can I get folding E63 side mirrors?
3. Is there a confirmed software update to fix the 'S' mode to start in 1st at all times?
4. Should I leave the charcoal filters in for dealer check-ups or just say screw it?
5. Is the Sprint Booster worth it on the E63?
6. Thinking RennTech stuff (heads and ECU). Anyone know if gains are accurate?

I hear yah BLKE63AMG. I can only speak to a couple of your questions based upon what I have researched on this board and what I have ordered so far.
Regarding the E63 power folding mirrors, I have ordered a set from Sunman, member on this board, who is also installing them. Steve from MBenzNL recently posted pics of the new E63 power folding mirrors. Jangy was the first to turn me on to these as I did not think there would be power folding mirrors since the stem on the E63 mirrors are more narrow than those on the E55's, I was wrong. I am also going with the convex Euro mirros with auto dimming driver side so that I can get rid of the $1 fish eye mirrors I usually mount on my side mirrors.
I have only driven my car about 50 miles so far (caveat) but I have noticed that my car always starts in "first gear" when in "S" mode. I noticed this as there is a pretty noticeable downshift to "first" just before a complete stop and I thought this was the issue mentioned on the CLS63 board about transmission issues.
I too am curious about the charcoal filter question as I just took mine out with on 25 miles on the car, not to mention that mine were somewhat glued to the top portion of the intake lid so took some prying to pop out.
I will most likely install my Sprint Booster in about two weeks or so and will let you know if no one else beets me to it.
FYI. I also made sure to get the new model Bluetooth puck that was metioned else where on this board and my Treo 700 from Sprint syncs seemlessly, unlike some earlier posts on syncing issues.

I had my transmission re-flashed to where it starts in first on S mode. BTW, when the transmissions was re-falshed, I did notice some improvement in the down shift to first coming to a stop. The engine also got a reflash, I don't know what that was for ( the service tech didn't either ). The car, after the re-flashed items were done, kind of felt weak, but has since regained its power. Seems like there is a "learning curve" after the re-flash. I too have my charcoal filters out, and notice no issues. It even went to the dealership with them out, and they didn't pick it up on their Star unit.

The transmission update is real and avail. Take your car back to dealer and tell them your car starts in 2nd in SPORT mode!!! They will give you the latest updates. ECU stuff avail , headers and pulleys , Evosport is making some as well. I would get the car broken in hard, and wait till at least 2k prior to any mods. Car will get faster and faster! An 8k mile car is faster than a 4k car from my experience. A car driven hard is faster than a car that sits in traffic! This can be dramatic in the 63. My car can feel VERY fast and also feel like she is hauling a large boat! Depends on who has been driving. Car will have a wide array of hp output and it all depends on how you are driving prior to the dyno. Use the paddles and take your engine to the 6800 range , tear away from traffic lights and try and get some frwy blasts in. The harder you drive the faster the sucker will be. Get to a drag strip and seal that engine up! All IMHO. And my 63 is over 4k now, no probs except the tranny reflash stuff @ 1300 mi
