The next mod, after the HRE WHEELS is.... *PIX*

Ive been spending way to much on mods lately. I got an eisenmann exhaust, e63 custom painted rear spoiler, euroteck carbon fiber lip, HRE 840's.....

And i just picked up another mod, however its almost the best in a way....

Its a a new Steering Wheel.

Its the MP Designs, black leather + wood steering wheel.

Unless your car is a special designo or special order AMG, most cars come with that dark wood, thats just what the steering wheel has.

I have yet to install it, however the feel of it is amazing. Its like NIGHT and day difference between that and stock.

If you have ever driven a E39 M5, you know what im talking about. It was a thick yet sporty steering wheel thats amazing and gave much control.

I hate to say it

The stock steering wheel always felt very C class for me..... It never felt very stable or comfortable, and for some reason reminded me of a less, sure footed car, and again i felt like it was too C class for my taste.

Yes its expensive, retail is close to 1600 for this steering wheel.

Renntech sells the same wheel made by mp designs for a lot more!

Here are the pix.

Now I'm confused.... MP Design website does show two styles: Ergonomic & sport. Ergonomic is the one shown by OP... sport is the one shown by Perisan. And the one shown in Performance Products website is the sport one.

And according to Performance Products, both of them don't come w/ the tiptronic buttons... you need to use your existing ones.

I plan to wait until Performance Products have big discount again (the best one I missed was 20% off) and since I have designo, I need to get the full-leather one

I got the thick one and had to swap my buttons out from my OEM wheel. It is an easy *** install and does make a world of difference.

Sorry to tell you but that is not a MP wheel... Unless they changed something recently...

The MP wheel has PERFORATED leather.. that looks like a MB wood/leather wheel.. The grips also dont look quite the same size unless its an optical illusion in the pic.

Yeah, thats not MP Design. MP Design is thicker and like someone said, perforated leather. We sell the MP Design for $1,375.

It is an MP design wheel. MP do two different types of wheel, one is the wood/sport wheel (thicker one) and the other is the wood/ergonomic which is the one in question. The thicker one is probably about $500 more.

Do you guys know if they sell a blackwood/suede sport wheel with shifter buttons? My cousin bought an '05 e500 that came with a wheel like this without the buttons. It looks and feels awesome. I'll take pictures if you haven't seen it.
