Cruising around in my E55 after the fight I decided to hit the highway... I only drive the car on the weekends .. it is mostly locked up during the week....I headed down to Miami... got of at the 163 st. exit and came to the light headed east... and I noticed a M6 pull up next to me .. the guy was maybe in his mid-20's ... so I was ready to race... my first line up with a M6 ...well the light turned green and damn he pussed out... so anyway he quickly realized I was down...and came up next to me.. I heard the car downshift and pick up so I was already in 3 and I just punched it... damn at a rolling speed of about 45 we took off at about the same time...I got the car up to about 110 and by the time I had to slow down I was 1 1/2 cars on him and holding at that...this was on a busy street and cars and lights come up quick.. so that was that....now I went and picked up a buddy of mine and then jumped back on the highway... this time I-95... it was now about 2 am....I was rolling along at about 85mph going north just passing Ives dairy and this car flies past me ... I saw it and realized the wheels and body and knew it was a M5 ...dark silver... so I speed up to it.. the car had a NEW YORK plate on so I knew a race was in the works....he had 3 people in the car (1 guy and 2 chicks)... I had me and my buddy....about the same in pass. weight....so he must have realized what I had because he slowed down before I got to him ..... well I put the car in 3rd and he took off first... we were about 1/2 car between each other on the start...rolling at about 90......he got the take off but I caught up and pulled about 2 cars on him... we did this off and on about 3 times....on the third time he jumped first and pulled 2 cars before I floored it ... he stayed that way... I could not take him but didnt fall back any either....on the 4th run we were exactly door to door to each other at about 80 ...I heard him throttle it and I stepped on it... roughly at the same time... I pulled 2 1/2 cars on him to 145.... then he slowed down and pulled back....this was a great night..... two of the best BMW has to offer against my 2005 E55....not bad......i expected more on the top with these cars....now I know...

 

i've been saying this for a while now...contrary to the hype spouted by all the uninformed armchair/paper racers on some forums, it's a myth that m cars are magical at higher speeds and it's an even bigger myth that our cars are dogs at higher speeds.

TORQUE simply rules the road..... the M'S are nice ......but without the torque forgettaboutit......Torque wins races... HP sells cars.....

 

come on if I raced that high I would have a death wish....cars come up to damn quick.....and a 155 sustained is better for the Bahn not here... south florida is dead on open roads...0-120 is an average race if the road allows....

 

Funny, the high torque cars at the drag were SPINNING all the way down the track and losing every RACE! In theory , yes you should win and likely will alot in straight races on the fwy. When the road gets twisty or slippery , you r done!

 

Plus your limiter would have smacked you! Unless you deleted it ? I agree most your races will be from 0-100. Just watch out for the 65's bro!

 

Yeah Jakpro1, didn't you know that when you race an M car and the race exceeds 155 mph, in the twisties with their DSC off, M button engaged, P500 mode on, 72.34 degress with a wind speed of 5.6789 mph coming in from the east, we get walked on by them?

DUDE you forgot about the auto launch euro paddle in the glove box that can be engaged whilst in m/sp esp modular position mode. Just simply use the I drive connect the m button to the computer ilink, engage the europaddle mode and BOOOOOOOOOOOM say goodbye to all AMG cars!!!

 

DOH!! How could i forget.
