E55 Differences from 2003 to 2006

Also have clam shell centre console - but also have rear Tv mbe thats why.
OEM optioned Rear TV is waste of time BTW it obstructs access to rear cabin too much and rattles like a skeleton - better to get an after market twin headrest version.
$1.5K for rear sunshade (parts & labor)
$3K for distronic (parts & labor) provided that Steve could get proper codestring (no clue what codestrings are
). He said MB moved some codestrings from offline to online... so it was harder for him to get.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
nanotech paint was from 2004 on correct?
turn sensing headlights/ was that from 2005 on?
was there a brake upgrade at some point? less touchy feely?
Brakes were the same until E63.

some old models came with 80tb (not sure if this was SL55 only)
blow off valve was changed no?
also the HE did not have the oil cooler at the front in the old models.
so yes there are a few changes.
Not sure if the AMGs had the brake by wire thing, if they did that got changed to
2003 and 2004 E55 Models:
- All 2003 models have NO NAVIGATION except for Presidential Series.
- All 2003 models have NO Spare Tire.
- The AC "Rest" feature left after the 2004 - 2005 transition.
- 2004+ E55s equipped with 'always ready' transmission buttons at the steering wheel. On the 03s, you have to press the transmission M/S/C button before the steering wheel buttons work ????
- 2004+ had the "smart" lighting system (head lights turn as the car turns).
- TPMS was an orderable option.
- If equipped with pano roof option, 2005 and 2006 have no solar panel.
- 200 mph speed gauge as opposed to 160 mph.
- Better suspension parts, mostly from CLS.
- Better steering rack, also from CLS.
- Slightly different supercharger clutch for smoother engagement.
- Slightly different IC pump (this one I'm not sure about?
) . - Aluminum Paddles.
- Sliding Center Console.
- TPMS cannot be ordered as an option anymore.
- Mercedes started using nano-ceramic paint technology.
Also, it is VERY easy to add COMAND/NAV to an '03. Most of the non-early cars are prewired, and SAT works fine too.
Also, I believe it was an activated charcoal filter button (stink button) that was removed from the later models, not a HEPA button.

The freakin thing thinks it's a F1 car
