Has anyone replaced just the mufflers to a higher performance one. I feel the car needs more growl and I dont mind not gaining hp but I just dont want to loose any. Its a funny question but im sure some has to have done it. what muffler is good out there?

 

just take out the 2nd cats, and the resonator, Replace it with a straight pipe, You MIGHT get what you want

 

Eisenmann has been a popular choice for rear boxes ...

 

I've installed Supersprint mufflers. Sound is deeper and less raspy than Eisenmann IMO. Fit and finish is very good and they have an adjustable hanger versus welded on hanger of Eisenmann. Not cheap though. No HP loss like some of the other ones.

 

do you have any soundclip for the supersprint? how much are they ?

Supersprint mufflers for the E55 is around $2800. I dont have the sound clip available with just the mufflers.

So there is an hp loss with the Eisenwhatever ones? I have supersprint units on my BMW... very tame... wish I could hear both in person!

 

I cannot believe the costs for exhaust parts/replacements for the E55/E63. For that matter all MB line-up. Just because these cars are made in Germany??
