Holy ****,

I went to sleep at 1:00am and the roads were soaked and it was drizzling out. I didn't even bother setting my alarm. Now I wake up, look outside and it's freakin blazing with sun. I know it's a bit late, but i'm going to grab a cup of coffee and head out towards Captree in a few minutes. Maybe I can catch some of you there or on the road.

I thought no one was going to make it, I woke up at 6 this morning and saw road a bit wet so I made the conclusion no one was going to make it, one hour later sleeper X calls me and leaves me a voicemail saying he is on his way, by the time I got the message it was already 9.30 and they were out there by the southern state, just too late for me, I will make it next week or when ever the next meet comes around , Darn!!!!!

Because of the so-so road condition, I decided to take my EVO out for a spin. Well, I just came back from Captree, nothing much to see out there. Oak Beach parking lot had a few Vettes, couple Ferrari's, bunch of bikes, and a black C43 AMG which I remember seeing at last yr's AMG meet by MB's haeadquarter in NJ. Went to Captree hoping to see some of you guys there, nope, only 2 M5's and 1 M6, so I didn't bother to stop and just shoot back home. On the way back, saw the same C43 mention above and we waved. Although there was no meet or anything, but definitely a nice cruise.

That was me in the C43, I thought that was you man. My friend was also up ahead in the Black A4 if you saw it. Had to cruise at 55 because my gas light was on haha. Nice evo!

Haha, yeah man. Sorry I gave you such a puzzled look, your EVo looks just like my brother's I thought it was him when I saw you a ways back. And you saw my C43 by capetree parked when we went for a ride in the A4. Let me know when your on the island, we'll meet up.

I raced a modded C6 Z06. He had a Robert xxxxx upgrade. (please forgive my lack of knowledge of Z06 upgrades. I am familiar with the Lingenfelter though). Anyways, we ran 3x from a roll, starting at about 20 mph. The first time I walked him. The second and third time he got me by about a car length. I thought he might have sprayed me the 2nd and 3rd time considering how I went from walking him to getting beat by a car length. Anyways, I drove back to OBI and parked my car with the engine running in order to let it cool off (not sure if this was a smart idea). In less than 5 minutes I saw a Z06 about to leave the parking lot and I asked him if he wanted to run. He said his car was stock and yes, he would run me. We ran from a roll, about 20 mph and he beat me by a car length. Now, I was scratching my head. I know the Z06 is fast, but how could I have beat a modded one 15 minutes earlier and gotten beat by a stock one later in the day. (My girlfriend was in the car against the stock Z06, and she wasnt in the car when I ran the modded Z06, but I don't think this would have made that much of a difference). Not even 2 minutes after running the stock Z06 my Check Coolant light came on. I pulled over, and my coolant level was very low. Now at first, I didnt think my car got heat soaked because I have the Renntech cooling upgrade, but after hours of pondering the only explaination I can come up with is heat soak. This morning when I woke up, I remembered that there was a time in E-town when my car was trapping at 117mph and I could not break into 11s. I was wondering what was wrong with my car and when I got home the check coolant level light came on. I went back to the track the next week and my car was trapping around 122. So maybe my car was heat soaked. There is only one way to find out... Stay tuned..

Definitely sounds like heat soak to me,like you said it doesn't make sense to beat a modded Z and then lose to a stock one.Unless the driver of the modded one can't drive and the stocker has the driver mod

A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Whether it is driver error, heat soak, forgetting to run in a certain mode, etc. Needless to say, I need to fix this heat soak issue IMMEDIATELY......
If there are any vendors out there reading this post, please advise... BTW, I already have an additional heat exchanger.. PTE, do you think your modded thermostat will help..

Was the modded Z a "Ron Fellows" Edition? That is a limited production model. I think they are all white.

The motor is the same as a standard Z06.

Anyway - the Z06 is a fast car. No shame there. You need to check your coolant level before you go out hunting. Set up another race and see if this was the problem. I suspect that it may have been.

That sounds about right. It was a white Z06 and Ron Fellows does sound like the name he quoted me. He said that it had some minor work done to it and that it wasnt stock.

Thanks... We will see about "nearly running" in 2 weeks. Once I solve this heat issue, I think I will shock those Z06 owners..

A stock c6 zo6 runs mid 11s@126mph. Even to keep up with one is impressive!
Well anyway heading back home after the runs- see kill section. There were a couple of Vettes with a cls 63 running. I was behind watching the action when the Vette almost crashed! Then a little later on another Vette almost lost it! Those Vette drivers can't seem to control their cars.
