My friends and I went to Famoso Raceway Track yesterday to run his BMW 545i, and to our luck, an E55 AMG showed up...
The track conditions were pretty good: no winds, very low humidity and density, track well prepped, and only 635 feet above sea level
The event ran from 6bp.m. to 11:30 p.m. At 6, the temperature was 78 and by 10 was 68 degrees. I'll leave it up to juice63 to correct the times and re-post
The E55 was 2004 and had Stage 1 installed. The car ran 3 runs, but I was only able to video tape the last one. Here are the results:
1st Run ---> 11.63 @ 118.x MPH
2nd Run ---> 12.24 @ 114.x MPH
3rd Run ---> 11.86 @ 117.x MPH
Last run was video taped, here is the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YmYUkcK3tA
Oh, and my friend's 545i was able to get two runs:
1st Run ---> 14.4 seconds @ 97.4 MPH
2nd Run ---> 14.3 seconds @ 98.5 MPH

No, I talked to him, and he said that he wasn't on the forum. After listening to me talk about how great this forum is, I think he'll join pretty soon... Originally Posted by SleeperX

Yes, and because he took off before the green light, he received a reaction time of -0.029 seconds.Originally Posted by T.O_c240

Wow. What is stage 1? How much hp increase from stock. Dam if he was stock it would have been one of the fastest runs Nationwide. On a red light you lose the race but it does not change your time> So he gets a 1st but a loss on his ticket. Hope he posts em on Drag times. I wonder what other stage 1 E55's run back East.
Thanks so much for going and recording this.
EDIT: To do corrections I NEED THE TIME OF THE RUNS.
The 55 is far less affected by DA because it is SC.
so the correction likely lowers the time much less than a N/A motor
The 545 would be more likely to suffer from the heat and 635 feet.
The E55 ran real strong did you See the 11.63? jeez how much hp does stage 1 give you?

he said, his stock times were 12.3 to 12.4 seconds, so his car was not out of the ordinary, but I guess it responded WELL to mods... Quote:
I think most of them run similar times: 11.6 to 11.9 Originally Posted by juicee63

Yes, I saw ALL THREE RUNS. I know in the video, the results came out all blurry because of night time + zoom + smoke + etc... But I did see all 3 runs. He lost a LOT of traction in that 2nd run, and he still managed 12.2 seconds...Originally Posted by juicee63

Awesome the S/C of the 55 is less affected by temperature and altitude so your 545 times improved more than the 55 times.Originally Posted by MB_Forever
