I did the 0-100 in 4,4 sec. with the E55

0-60 km/h in 2,1 sec.
0-100 km/h in 4,4 sec.

Measured with the Performance Box from Racelogic!

Works perfectly, with GPS!

Just buy the performacebox, that is a toy to have!

See:
http://www.performancebox.co.uk/

Sorry for the bad picture, was taken with a cell phone!

You can do better!

I've done 4.3s with 3 people and 20" rims on my 63.

Ok, but it was just one of the first runs and with a full tank, old tyres and 3 people in the car. And you know that the E55 has a lot of wheel spin because of the marvelous torque!

Did you tested it with GPS measured equipment?

I'm guessing that's 0-60mph. 100kmh is 0-62.5mph and always takes a few tenths of a second longer as many cars need an extra shift. Just food for thought.

My best in the M3 is a 0-60 is 4.8 which I'm pretty pleased with considering i'm running a stock 333bhp and drive stick

What the hell am I doing wrong! I got 5.3 0-100 with 3.0 0-60 6.2 0-120. 50-70 is 0.9. Why am I getting these rediculous times? My times are consistent with yours, but my start is 1 sec behind you. Whats wrong?
The car feels strong and slips and slides all over the place, so I am pretty sure its a traction problem. I live black marcks for 5m and the light flashes all the time until about 60km/h. To be honest the times above seemed pretty good as the launches felt to be totally without traction every time.

I think the following.

Street start with panic throttle because people behind me.
19 inch wheels Pirelli P zero with 40 PSI.
2 people in the car.
I have a pano roof.
The best time was set in SPort 1, comfort mode sucked.
It seems it takes atleast a half second to mone my foot from the brake to the throttle and I think timing starts immediately...

Otherwise the performance box is cool!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Give me tips please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Racebox Logic is more accurate than a G-Tech.

40 PSI and sport 1 are no good.
comfort setting, 32psi or so (lower if at track)
tranny in S with gear 1 manually selected, just to make sure

left foot on brake, right foot on gas.... give a little bit of gas, 1500rpm (just to get the tq converter to lock) while staying on the brake. release the brake and feed in the throttle smoothly but at hte same time as quickly as possilbe without spinning too much (this is the hard part)..... practice and youll get it

sometimes some wheelspin is good, but not off the line, after youve left the line, lets say @ 10-15mph you floor it and it spins just right, it help the revs climb

as for 55 v. 63...... the 55 is much harder to launch

You are correct. That puts him roughly in the 4.2 sec range for 0-60.

Yes, this is the best way to do it! Just sellect the 1th gear on Manual, because on 'S' you will lose almost half a second!

So I should use M mode alltogether or select 1 in S mode and then leave it in S? So if I just select S in the E55 it is in 2nd gear unless I change it?

What about the M mode anyway, BMW's steptronic works like this: You select the next gear at any point during the acceleration and then the gearbox changes automatically at redline. Does the AMG gearbox work the same. What about missing pressing the button, does it change gear anyway? Basically my question is can I overrev the car in M mode.

Thanks for the advice everyone!!! This car needs practice in the launch!!!

It changing gear automatically in M mode, but a few RMP's later than on the S mode! So on M mode you can't overrev the car, but it's much faster in M!

Try it out and see for your self!

in m mode you CAN over rev the car. depending on the year, the tranny wont shift, itll just bounce of the limiter

Will have to try.

Just a little shy to try it with the rev limiter as the car is so new to me. It seems in the 2004 it will shift itself in S mode at the rev limiter even when using the pads, but not in M mode.

It also seems in S mode it starts in the first gear automatically??? In comfort mode it starts in 2nd gear. Am I right?

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, LRD4 HSE, R107 280SL
To shift in M mode from 1st to 2nd takes great care - and actually a year down the road I still got to get it right - prob is the box sometimes is slow and other times quicker ... and sometimes you get wheelspin which get the revs to jump real quick ... and its real easy to trip the traction control / limiter ...

I think the box does a much better job than I could by getting it to shift for me in S mode...

after i got my tcu update from the dealer on my 03 clk55, it would bounce of the rev limiter, before the update it would shift by itself. as i said, it depends on the year of your car and whether your tcu was updated (if it was an older model)
