New E55 garage mate......RS4 is here (pics)
Well I picked up the new ride today and it's too early to give it a review, so all I will say thus far is...................... WOW!!!! If someone was to buy this car for the exhaust note only I would understand why. This car may be the best looking Audi made and it's just plain menacing when in motion. The interior is top notch and the materials are first rate. Tremendous technology inside and out. A couple of pics of the new ride.
BTW......E55/RS4 = Apples/Oranges

Great car- great look - great wheels and I understand why you mentioned the apples to oranges thing.
Why did you get this car though? I know you said it was too soon for a review but you had to have had some opinion or desires that made you pull the 70k trigger (or is it less?) Obviously there are other items besides brute torque, handling, and straightline delivery differentiations with the 55 vs. the RS4 but your opinions would go a long way as I am in the market for something else and I already have two torque machines.

Sick car Rock... I used to have a 2005 S4 and the handling was incredible... enjoy man!
We need more pics (interior and other angles). How about a vid of the RS4 against the beast?

Vic,
I picked up the RS4 for a number of reasons, First, I like to own cars that can be driven everyday and be used for almost any occasion. If I had enough money and enough garage space, then I would own a Ferrari F430 or some other exotic that I could drive on a special occasions.
I decided to purchase the RS4 for the following reasons:
- Generally excellent reviews from the auto critics and owners of the car.
- External appearance.
- The car is packed with technology (4.2L high revving, high compression V8, Dynamic ride control, sophisticated ESP, Lambo brakes………….nuff said.
- Audi interior, attention to detail, high-end materials, fit and finish, ergonomics, etc.
- Exclusivity- 800-1000 cars imported.
- The car feels like it’s on rails and stimulates every nerve ending in your body. Wonderfully involving and it has an uncanny ability to make you feel as though you're an exceptional driver, even if you're not. As an example, I take a difficult local off-ramp at about 65mph in the E55. Today, I took it at 90mph in the RS4 and felt like I could have taken it at 110mph with little drama. This car is just glued to the road.

Guys, thanks for the nice comments. I'm already wrestling with what car I should drive to work on Tuesday morning................lol.
Josh, I will try to get a few more picture up and I will do a head-to-head video but we already know the outcome.
Marcus, Thank you for your comments and help with my decision to get the RS4.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
jimand7, ceramic brakes are not offered on this car.

Seriously though, I'd like to see some pics of the inside. When it's time to retire the E55 the new Audi's may be the way to go. I'd always heard thier interiors were top notch. How is the ride comfort and seats? I have a bad back so comfort is of paramount importance above anything else. It's why I can never have a P car or even an M let alone an exotic, my back couldn't take it for long.

2004 E55
Nice car, it looks really, really nice. What are owners getting in the 1/4 mile stock? I use to have a couple of chipped 2001 S4's and those cars felt so in touch with the road, just point and steer. The E55 is faster but it just does not have that feeling of total control. The RS4 probably magnifies that ohh so good feeling
