Beware of a white Ford truck with no bed
Here's a video clip of a NA Ford truck waving bye-bye to a kompressor car (w211?). It also trailered a V65 bike and a pressurized firebird. The truck runs the 1/8 in 8.1@86mph with an engine design dating back to 1956.
Just keep an eye out, that's all I'm sayin'.

The 1/8 mile track definitely favors a high torque vehicle that hooks up. In the quarter the Benz would likely sail by due to better aerodynamics. I'm guessing that the truck in close to 500 hp and probably 550 tq but a brick with power is still a brick.
I plucked the vid from the FE forum (yes, an entire forum dedicated to the 390-427-428 Ford engine series). I don't know where it's shot but it looks like a public road and that could be I5 from the central valley in the background.

I love it. My son has a Ford F-250 with the Banks kit on it. He's surprised a bunch of cars. One time we had a small refrigerator in the bed and some guy in a lowered Honda Civic with gauges, tack, exhaust and all the regular stuff, reved on us at a light. We lit him up so bad he turned off at the first street.
I would love to run that truck up to...say...160 or 170.

More details on the engine?
Diesel? We have a turbodiesel Cummins Ram around here that makes four figure torque numbers. That thing weighs 3 tons and moves.
