Hi everybody!

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Derek and I purchased an 07 Obsidian Black E63 on Thursday. Ive been lurking around this forum for the past few days and decided to sign up since you guys seem really cool. I am in the chicagoland area.

I do have one question. I was just wondering how long you guys broke in your cars for? I am at 228 miles (I picked her up with 182). I know the manual says to take it easy till 1000. Do you guys have any other tips for me?

Thanks in advance!

PS: Anybody want me to post pics?

Edit: Here are some pics

You know I probably should have asked that but I was way to excited. Car is in perfect condition and feels great though. I do know that the car jumped from a few dealerships before I got it. Anyways I just took her on the highway last night and DAMN! 80 feels like what 50mph felt like in my old ride.

Everyone is welcome.... How's June 17th sound to everyone? I figure we can meet around 10am (meet and greet) then drive to Lake Geneva and have lunch.

I wont be around the 17th either. Either the week before or after would be great though. I was crusing up and down 355 today. Saw a black CLS63 and a bunch of BMW's that were trying to get me to race.

Looks like the 24th is the day for fun.... Im cool with that. Anyone wants to help plan the details? So, this way we can get a good count if it works with everyone's schedule.

How about we meet at Dave & Buster's in Addison. Huge parking lot right off the highway - we could eat there, then maybe blast downtown? Or maybe take a drive somewhere else to eat? The food there is mediocre at best, but with groups it's always tough to make everyone happy.

I suppose what we do will depend on attendance. Lets get a firm headcount first. I'll be happy to help with arrangements. A Chicago MB meet has been a long time coming - in all the years I've been on this forum I still have never attended an MB meet.

I'm throwing a surprise b-day party for the wifey that weekend (24th)

Any chance we could do the 30th?

Maybe an AM meet, then a drive to GLD for some fun passes?

Im with you on this.... A meet is a long time coming for chi-owners. Im cool wherever, I just thought a drive to lake geneva would be great (open roads w/ less traffic) then enjoy the lake in the summer time. The only thing that might be bad there is parking. Anyway, lets get a head count and on with the plans.
