Hobbies?

OK, the age survey was fun and things got a little funky with the occupation topic. But, these are kinda fun and we can get some insight into what other cats on this forum are like and what makes them tick (sometimes I need a break from the "wasted a BMW M5 today" topic). So, what the hell, we can see if this gets any traction. All members/M5 board visitors welcome...

What are your hobbies, etc? I'll go first:

Travel with family, Weekend Road Trips, working in the yard with my wife (a little gardening), cook-outs/cooking, fantasy football, this forum (kinda like therapy for me in a way and my wife thinks I am off my rocker for spending time on it), spending time with my parents, running/weight lifting, golf weekends with my buddies(mostly drinking), and trips to Vegas.

With however much time I have left after school and work:

spend time with the wife shopping, going out to dinner with her (we frequent a Thai place that's cheap and tasty due to her food restrictions), cooking, taking care of my "imouto" (little sister).

Most of,if not all of my free time is spent racing motorcross, then if I find any extra time I collect and restore 66-67 Chevy nova's.Plus the usuall stuff like making everything I own faster or something or another. Which reminds me I have alot of projects that need to be finished. LOL

Are those 802D's pictured on the controller panel ??? Nice!

I am also a HT geek ... but my theatre needs some mods !!! surprise surprise.

Love working with my hands metal & wood mostly .... built a garden shed this w/e and so far its water tight ... (no rain yet lol !).

Give me anything that I can pull apart and "repair" and I will have a go at it - its great trying to solve these problems and see how things work ... Damn I should have studied engineering....

One day when I grow up I will have a monster workshop with all the tools a man could want... err... I guess you can never have enuf money or enuf tools right?

other than this ...
Go Karting
Driving fast cars - any type
Golf
Cricket - getting bit old for this now though

Edit: How could I forget - watching Tv (ALLOT of TV unfortunately) really enjoy Overhaulin' with Chip Foose - he has some awesome make overs...

Speakers are all hidden behind acoustically transparent columns and screen wall, but I have Axiom's flagship system. It is the Epic 80 system with about 3000 watts for the subs alone. (1 18 and 2 15s.) The room is all green glued with double drywall to be soundproof as the master suite is directly above the theater. The screen is 110" with both a Bluray and Hd-Dvd player feeding the 1080p picture. Lots of fun, but it is also the difference in me buying an E55 like I have, or an SL65. I think it was worth it.

Yeah awesome build ... I am not quite up to 3kw yet but got a Velodyne DD12 - but think it needs partner ... I need to do some damping in the room and was just looking at this greeglue ... can you recmoomed it ? What puzzles me is what fastners you use to hold the two panels together with the GG sandwiched in between - surely the fastners add to the conductive sound path?

Maybe we should take this to PM...

ZXLR88, are green glue & double drywall (sound deadening board, I assume) really effective for your setup?

I tried double drywall (not using green glue but mass loaded vinyl instead) at my wife's music school and it wasn't really effective... yes, they reduced the sound.... but not that effective, IMO.

Have you ever tried using resilient channels & floating drywall? I heard it's more effective but more fragile
