I don't believe Phil went for the cats as he may have had a change of heart at the last minute. I'm the former owner of Phil's car and have gotten to know him rather well, he's a good guy and a man of his word for sure. If anything the guy's that got him involved with this product and or data may have fed him innacurate info whether intentional or not remains to be seen. Phil mentioned he has dealt with these folks before with great results. Hope this helps until Phil can answer.

whoa buddy...i don't need to speak for chris and can't speak for the dyno shop but i don't take kindly to those kinds of accusations. you better rethink your statement unless you have some hard evidence to prove otherwise!

Lightbulb Dyno

The Dyno was run on a DynaPak which is a rear Hub mount where the rear tires are removed and the dyno is run directly attached to the rear hubs.
This is one of the reasons that this dyno is very accurate. As for the headers, The ports are all 1.75" versus the factory Manifolds at 1 5/8. This means that each port is 1/8 larger on these headers over the factory. Basically the other end of Victors TB enlargement! The total area 8 Cylinders at 1/8 equals a full inch larger flow volume versus the stock manifolds. More area equals more flow equals more power period!

Bob: These guys are pure race performance guys! They really understand high performance and did not mislead me. The Dynapak Dyno is pretty accurate if you look at my previous post. The volume metrics here are the key to these performance gains same as Victors Throttle body yielding more volume on the intake side (6mm gain over the stock) and 1/8" on each port on the headers = 1" total gain on the exhaust side. I do not doubt these guys period. Chiromikeys full length headers have to be yielding 50+ Horsepower with the long tubes & Cats. So it is no stretch that the larger volume shorties can yield 30 HP. Believe or don't believe doesent matter to me!

For those of you not familiar with dynapacks, they give GROSSLY high numbers. That said.. the delta should be valid still, but must be scaled accordingly.

i don't care that you said "may" or you disguise it in an effert to "help out phil", if you're going to make bull**** accussations about people character based on your assumptions you better expect one of the "guys" you're accusing to take offense.

We can all see what kind of character you are from your statement above about your Mother...sounds like you're a a sick SOB to me.

It's amazing you never bothered to put in the part where I said: "Phil mentioned he has dealt with these folks before with great results". "Hope this helps until Phil can answer." So once again F/U
You know "Jack", I don't give a rats *** about what you think and I don't give a rats *** about how much power these headers or fake headers (according to some here) do or don't make.

I'm done here so have the last word you sick F.

that's the brightest decision you've made all night.

i don't care that people question his results, in fact i applaud it. i too am surprised...maybe even a bit skeptical. regardless there is absolutely no reason for anyone to claim or even suggest that i (or anyone involved) might be giving phil bad information. an accusation like that could only come from someone with extremely poor moral character, something in which you've gone out of your way to prove tonight.

as i said, because of who you've proven to be i no longer need to defend myself against your unfounded and clueless ramblings so i digress back to the original topic. if you have anything further you wish to say please pm me so that we don't have to subject the forum to this petty crap.

my apologies to the forum.

And getting back to the "headers"... the only thing they have got going for them is the bigger diameter primaries - thats it. This should result in better top end, but given the very similar design to the oem unit, it will only be at the very top end which is what we see from the dyno plot. What gets me is the delta can larger primaries give that much of an increase on their own ... ? I would really like to believe it, as I would then get these units asap, but for now remain sceptical. ~8% is some gain from larger primaries alone. Maybe these hit a sweet spot by keeping compression and allowing more top end flow ... who knows?

BTW that dyno with hub mounting should be very accurate in a delta calc so this is pretty interesting stuff...any more proof will be very welcome.

stevebez: I just got this onfo on the hub dyno. Check it out. I'm sorry I started a firestorm here but I was just happy with my results and am looking forward to getting my E55 back with the headers and vrus' TB kit this weekend. Regards: http://www.dynapackusa.com/product.htm

deaguero:

I think the reason for scepticism that you are seeing with regard to Dynapack has to do with how easy it is to manipulate. In addition to how it is measures the power.
