Powerchip Software - Feedback?

Saw an add for Powerchip Performance Software in a S55/S600 Forum.
Claim is 44 HP and they can be customized for if you have other mods. Anyone have one of these or heard anything? Seems that $700 on an ASP Pulley and $1,495 on one of these would be a nice alternative to A K1 or comperable R package. Or, if they do provide 44 HP on their own would be a bargain.
Thoughts?

I have a powerchip on my ML63 and also my bros CLS63, and it works great. Very good bang for the buck

Blue,I remember reading your thread awhile back on this. However,I forgot if you did any dyno pulls before/after or if you just did the install&that was it?

I'm really considering this but it's hard to justify $1200 for 20hp at the wheels

Do you have other mods, or just the chip? Looks like the price is $1490 for the chip.

Does it change the everyday drivability of the car?

I think evosport has powerchip in their stage 1 package and couple of guys on the forum has it. So if evosport uses them it must have been proven.

Now this is the reason I will not shell over all that money.Nobody has any solid real world evidence of horsepower gains or for some reason will not show them

It's a damn shame there aren't any proven mods that add more then 30rwhp for this car without resorting to spray.I guess 55K's will still rule the horsepower wars

+1... it looks like it's very hard to add HP to naturaly espirated engines ... however i went with RENNtech Stage 1 (CF Airbox and ECU/TCU upgrade) for my W210 E55 AMG will take car to the dyno in few weeks and will see, i have before dynos readings... and nothing to hide ir lie just very interesting what real world gains are, if any ...

But what I do have is a much faster car after the chip was installed.
And thats AWHP, not RWHP. My car has a 25 % drivetrain loss
