Enzom it was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for this info. As a result of what you have here I may just leave my Pirelli's on and see how I do using your technique.
By the way,after you left Leslie(Black E55 at E-town) ran a 12.1 @118mph 1.7 or 8 60ft in his K2 55 with Conti's which was actually his first time ever drag racing that car or any car on an organized drag strip. I told him to use your technique.
Not too shabby for a first timer. He should be able to run mid 11's with more practice.
Next time at the track we will have two E63's there!

You really can improve your time with practice. I'm sure Leslie will do great the more he runs.

I've run almost 117mph in my stock 06 E55 (12.25@116.70 on a 1.82 60'). That was also "post-flash", which was an issue that was floating around as the E63 was released.
On your BEST runs with the 2.00 shorts, is that traction limited? I've screwed up the launch in my car and run mid 12s, but usually with a higher than 2.00 60'.
The E63s have been out long enough that if they actually ran faster (or even the same) as the E55s, we'd see it in the best posted timeslips. How many E55s have posted 11 second stock timeslips? What about 12.0x? How many 63s have done the same?
I love all the E* AMG cars, but there is no empirical evidence to show that the E63 is quicker than the model it replaced. There are plenty of us with E55s that have posted consistently quicker ETs than ANY E63.

Sorry Wayne but there are very few 63's on the drag strip. Its really not the car most folks take. The E55 on the other hand has 5 years of culture, 5 years of mods, 5 years of practice. We should start seeing the cars(63) gain some speed no pun intended. We need more guys getting the car to the track and racing. I admit the E55 is likely the most capable 4 door luxury dragster on the planet. A 55 can be beaten by a 63 in some instances but the SC definately gives it an edge in the 1/8th and 1/4 mile.

That trap speed you have in your signature is almost identical to what I am trapping. I believe the only difference is in the 60' time. At the beginning it was b/c the 63 was starting in 2nd gear. Since I got the reflash it now starts in first. I am still 'practicing' for the optimal launch and if I can get a 1.8 60' I will be in the 12.2 range.

I'd be happy to put my stock E55 up against your 63. I was at Atco with the car for the first time on Tuesday. Even in 80* air with less than ideal conditions it went 12.4@114mph.
I'll run it at E-town. The next few weeks aren't very good for me with my travel schedule. It might have to be in August or September.

P.S. Lots of people seem to have a 55/63 and some model year Viper. I completely love the 63 but there is no better
'Thrill' ride than a Viper! How about those specs on the
'08 with Mopar performance package.

I am always down for some fun. Aug/Sept is good. I am only 20 minutes from the track.
P.S. Lots of people seem to have a 55/63 and some model year Viper. I completely love the 63 but there is no better

Like everybody else, I'm waiting to see what the '08 brings. It should be interesting. I'm a Gen II guy though. Any Viper is awesome, but I like the looks of the GTS's over the SRT's...all a matter of personal preference.
